I am awesome, unpredictable, and modest.
My Self-Summary
I'm not being too creative when saying I'm a student who enjoys
being a student and all the benefits it brings, but who cares? I'd
consider myself to be a little complex to describe, but it's
probably just me not being able to find the right words. Enjoying
life and seeking new experiences, just like all of us.
I sometimes tend to get temporarily obsessed with something, be it
some sport I tried out with a mate, some
video game (
guitar hero!), some band or even a
whole genre, you name it. You could say I'm easily influenced, but
the sources that influence me are completely random and vary
greatly so it'd be a bit controversial.
I like animals and would like to have some living with me, but due
to the restrictions of my student apartment my
cats live at my parents' house.
I'm sometimes somewhat of a romantic, and have even written a few
poems in my life,
but I wouldn't generally consider myself a very artistic person.
I'd love to learn to play the
piano properly some day, though. It's one
of those things I'll regret not doing when I'm old if I don't take
the time to learn it at some point.
What I’m doing with my life
Studying (as a freshman) in the Helsinki University of Technology,
with my major probably ending up being something like a mix of
business
studies and some
IT technology.
Trying to learn how to play
tennis properly! No, not really. I just
do it sometimes with mates. However, it'd be cool to have more
people to play with, so that it'd be easier to improve.
I’m really good at
Cooking good
(student) food, staying up late, surfing pointless internet
websites, uh.. listening! And.. probably pretty decent when it
comes to
languages as well, at least I'd like
to think so. Oh well.
Also, enjoying movies no one else finds appealing! That might sound
like an overstatement, but you have to consider the context, and in
this context I was referring to my friends..
also, if there's a band or a movie you absolutely hate, chances are
I think it's actually great, you just haven't noticed it yet.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've no idea. I've probably left a countless number of different
first impressions. Probably something along the lines of someone
who thinks what he's saying or appears reserved.. or the complete
opposite. I wouldn't really count too much on first impressions
though.. :P
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I enjoy reading
scientific books (like A Brief
History of Time & such), not too fond of science fiction
though. The last English novel I read and liked was Dante's Divine
Comedy, some other recent books include the Swedish "Kära Agnes" by
Bödil Jönssön,
H.P. Lovecraft's horror
(short novels), and a lot of books by
Juha Vuorinen.
As far as movies go, I'm pretty much open to a lot of varieties.
Some of the more artistic movies I find boring, but am willing to
give most of em a shot regardless. I enjoy both action-packed
flicks and movies that make you think in one way or another.
Depending on who I'm watching with, comedy is a good alternative as
well. Favourites include
The Gladiator,
The Butteryfly
Effect,
Eternal
Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,
Rain Man, and
Sin City
Music? I'm not bound to genres, but I tend to listen to a lot of
different kinds of
rock and
trance. The fact that I listen to a lot
of different genres brings with it the side effect of listening to
a lot of mainstream stuff, but it doesn't bother me too much. Korn,
Scooter, Rammstein, Metallica, Kent, Kid Rock, and some Finnish pop
artists are something you might find in my playlist .. at this
moment.
As far as day-to-day food goes, I have to cope with basic
student-grade food like rice, macaroni, minced meat, rye bread, and
pork. I love
chinese food though, and if you
find me in a restaurant, it's likely to be a chinese one.
The six things I could never do without
My family and a few of my closest friends that I can rely on, and
talk about anything with. It's amazing how much easier life is when
you have people around to share stuff with.
New stuff to learn, be it skills, knowledge, or whatever. One of
the great joys in life is to become better at something or learn
something new.
My computer, for both studying and personal entertainment.
The senses I have, and all the different kinds of feelings
associated with both everyday life and once-in-a-lifetime events.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Both academic and less mind-boggling stuff. Astrophysics is
something I'm fascinated with at the moment, but it's pretty
superficial for me. I tend to think and stress a bit about the
future occasionally, but I try to avoid it, since everything's been
going fine so far. Worst reason ever, by the way!
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably enjoying a relaxing night at my or one of my friends'
houses, sometimes watching a movie or being out in town, but rarely
getting drunk in bars.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have bought a record by Britney Spears and received a quick,
flirty shoulder massage from an openly gay man without resisting.
Don't tell anyone. Wait, oh no. :x
You should message me if
You're not intimidated by the thought of having an acquintance who
might call you at some ungodly hour to ask you do something way too
awesome to pass by.
