My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm going to write about myself for the remainder of this profile. Surprise! I have to warn you though I'm not an expert at this. Some parts will be better than others. Kind of like Moby Dick. One part will move the story along, the next will feature unnecessary details into the intricacies of whaling. I hope you're ready.
Disclaimer: I've never actually read Moby Dick!

I spend a lot of time following the exciting world of domestic soccer. I also play once a week on an over 30 mens team, though I try to take it easy on the old guys. Except most are close to my age. So scratch that last comment.

I'm a bit of a soccer fan. I haven't, however, chosen to throw my support behind some random team from some random English city I've never been to. I support Barcelona. I'd love to go one day!

It should be clear to you by now, if you're still reading, that I can be a bit goofy. Really I just have a good sense of humor. So if you like funny and intelligent, take a look at this guy.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've spent the last few years of my in a graduate program at Georgia State University. I've really enjoyed it and going back was one of the best decisions I've ever made. So much so I'm tempted to stay. My thesis advisor is very encouraging to the idea of a PhD. I think she realizes though that I need to return to the real world for a little bit. But if it doesn't suit me I'm walking right back into the halls of academia. Literally and figuratively.

In case you're wondering what it is that I study I regret to mention here that it is mathematics and statistics. I say regret because even though I enjoy this field, the reactions from the general public have not been so kind. But I think of it is as a tool to answer interesting questions. Questions about biology, health, and you know other stuff. I'm like Nate Silver. Except I'm also charming. Don't worry I am well versed in many other areas of conversation. Unless you like math! If not I understand.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Telling stories

Ping Pong! And no I won't take it easy on you. So don't ask!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't know this, what am I a mindreader! Probably that I'm drunk, stumbling around, mumbling angrily about some "white whale."

Michael Lewis (Moneyball, The Big Short) - His nonfiction reads like John Grisham.

Ursula Le Guin - She's a great sci-fi writer but from a more feminist anthropological perspective. Seriously you should give her a try.

Yeah I've read Harry Potter and The Hunger Games. NOT Twilight though. Never shall I do such a thing.

I feel like I'm missing something here. It's on the tip of my tongue. A classic work of fiction. Something about sea-faring, a fatal character flaw, seeking revenge against a force of nature. Ahh..Got it! Twenty thousand leagues under the sea! Moving on...

I love them. It's too difficult to go into details in this category. I'm pretty broad though - from artsy and foreign to blockbusters with action. I used to dig romantic comedies but came to the conclusion recently they're all formulaic and boring. But I can sit through them. Maybe.

I just so happen to like these two things as well!

Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

*I should mention here that I actually COULD do without some of the things mentioned on this list. In fact the only one I definitely need for survival is water. Well water in some form. I guess coffee has water in it so I could just drink that for hydration. And no coffee does not dehydrate you. Look it up if you don't believe me.

You've read Moby Dick and can explain to me what it's really about!

Or if you feel like you've been entertained by reading this profile. I've tried to make it interesting whilst delivering relevant information about myself. I don't know how the Moby Dick theme got started. Really it felt out of my control. But I just went with it!
