I currently work as a preschool teacher and have worked with kids since I was 18 years old. But my BA was in Literature and Creative Writing, and reading and writing are two of my great loves.
I would call myself a non-scene nerd. I love comic books, sci-fi/fantasy, movies of all kinds. Love to have deep, involved conversations about any range of topics, from pop culture to philosophy or spirituality. I love being around people and being sociable, but yet I only have a small group of friends. I am very open and honest about my feelings and opinions and emotions.
Values are extremely important to me. Since I was very young, I always felt a strong need to be a good person and to have a good heart. Compassion, kindness, generosity, openmindedness, and integrity are musts. I was raised Catholic and now would consider myself a Buddhist Atheist. Spirituality is very important to me, but I am not preachy. I think real spirituality is action...not everyone can be out there volunteering in third-world countries, but at the very least, be kind and respectful to the people you do see everyday, and try to have feelings of compassion for others in your heart.
I am mellow and calm, but can be silly and fun too. I'd rather be chilling with good friends playing games, chatting with some drinks than out partying. I've had my share of world travels and adventure, but I'm at the point in life where I see that the more difficult challenge is the ability to sit around and do nothing and be ok with it.
I believe in love and have a really big heart. I have a tremendous capacity for affection and enjoy cuddling, kissing, holding hands, and touching constantly.
If I'm not home reading or watching tv or hanging out with friends, I am usually going for a long walk, going to yoga, zumba, the gym, to the bookstore, meditating, sitting in Starbucks, or just doing nothing :)
