My self-summary
Born and raised in Chicago, I'll be in St. Louis for the next several years working through grad school at WashU. Its going great and I love the city, but I'm looking to meet people outside of my program - which brings me to okcupid!
What I’m doing with my life
Making the most of each day - life is too short to sweat the small stuff.

Exercising - just by doing the things that you love. For me, that could be: gymnastics, breakdancing, yoga, jogging in Forest park, or...

Dancing - solo, close, or classes, I love to move :)

Learning for the sake of learning - I'm in grad school for cancer research, and I love it; 'work' never feels like work, and I am driven by the desire leave the world a better place than how you came into it.
I’m really good at
trying new things; I'm an extrovert that enjoys new situations - throw me and I usually float :)

I also love learning new ways to dance, and I'm never afraid to be the only one dancing - someone has to start it off, right??
The first things people usually notice about me
I have been told that I'm a happy soul, that I have my shit together, that I look like I do gymnastics (lol), that I'm ALWAYS hungry, and that I'm a funny, perceptive guy - woot!

The six things I could never do without
The internet
Friends

A job that gives me a sense of purpose :)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
just about everything, and I love talking about it all. :)
On a typical Friday night I am
I love hitting the city with friends on the weekends - we usually start at a bar, and hopefully end at the place where we can dance!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I once had friends suggest a TV show, which would consist of 'giving Michael a topic and listening to where it ends up.' They jokingly suggested 'paper' as a topic, which actually reminded me of a story that I wanted to share:

--> There was a crazy story in the news several years ago, in which scientists exploring the rainforest came across a rather unique tree - the way Oceanographers find a new species of fish every time the travel to the bottom of the ocean - so these scientists took some tree samples for analysis.
--> Chemical samples can be tested against genetic libraries of diseases - different cancer cell lines, bacteria, parasites, ect. - to check for the novel ability to fight a disease; the majority of drugs that we use come from nature, so this type of screening usually leads to new discoveries. To their amazement, this tree sample was a potent tumor-surpressor! The scientists went back to collect more samples, to determine what compound was killing cancer cells so effectively! ...only they couldn't find that same tree, because the entire section of rainforest had been wiped clean - cut down to make paper.

SAD! But stuff like that is fun to talk about - you can learn so much from the successes or mistakes of others. I love discussing random shit with people because you never know when might learn something new, or grow a little more as a person.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 21–27
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
you want test this whole '% match' thing!

I think that a lot of the okcupid questions too narrowly place us into a defined category (even with the option to 'explain' our answers) - so I don't put much weight behind the % match number...even though it can still be fun to compare answers :)
