I am Unique, Like, and Everyone.
My Self-Summary
Some things you might want to know:
I'd like to think I've got a pretty 'normal' personality - if I
didn't go to a Jesuit school, I'd probably be in a frat. I'm
outgoing and like having fun and being funny/stupid, but not in a
bad or offensive way (I hope). I'm straightforward and don't try or
pretend to be overly complex or "deep". It's not that I dislike
having intellectual conversations - I've just run into too many
kids who do so/force them nonstop... there's a time and place for
everything (and while it's always a good time to laugh, discussing
the nuances of health care reform over Busch Lite annoys me).
I try to be nice to everyone, including people I don't like. I
naturally give people the benefit of the doubt and find it ALMOST
impossible to dislike anyone who is nice, even if I don't want to
actually be the one hanging out with them. I almost never get
angry.
I'm a closet dork and like learning stuff in my free time (examples
include politics, psychology, culture, and media/marketing stuff),
but I'm far from super-intellectual. If you give me a (good)
nonfiction book on some random topic, there's a solid choice I'll
find it interesting. I do not, however, enjoy being forced to learn
stuff.
In the past 2 years I've lived in the US, Ecuador, Spain, and
India, and it was really, really sweet. I plan on traveling more
when I have the $$ to do so, or if I manage to land a sweet
international job.
I admit that I think a night spent watching movies and cuddling is
more enjoyable than a night out drinking heavily, and I am sorta
proud of it (but you probably would not guess this if you met
me).
And I'm unique just like everybody.
What I’m doing with my life
Just got done working in India, now back at Georgetown (5th year
senior). Working, taking classes, and job hunting almost full time.
Kinda brutal.
I’m really good at
Not bragging. Screwing around. Cuddling. Being myself. And FIFA.
The first things people usually notice about me
Abroad: I am American (from 200 yards, I've never been mistaken for
another nationality)
US: No clue, honestly - I hope different things (and I hope they
vary depending on the situation I'm in)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Anything by Kurt Vonnegut, Chuck Palahniuk, John Irving, and
lots of other stuff (I read the Economist/NY Times, if you're a
neocon we might not jive)
Movies: American Beauty, A Beautiful Mind, City of God, Traffic,
Fight Club, Snatch, Old School, Layer Cake, Anchorman, Superbad,
documentaries... but I'll watch almost anything
Music: anything good... depends on my mood. lots of electronic
stuff (i.e. techno/trip hop) and Pandora is great
Food: sushi, steak, ice cream. and ethnic food. trader joes
microwaveable food is pretty solid as well
The six things I could never do without
Food, water, shelter, love, friends, family, a plan
And childlike humor. Just found this gem: www.mylifeisaverage.com
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Whatever's right in front of me, accomplishing something (I swear I
do not act like it), the future, people... depends.
On a typical Friday night I am
Down for anything (within reason)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I wanted to be renamed Sonic until I was about 6 or so, and dressed
up as a ninja for Halloween 5 years in a row.
You should message me if
You're not mean, you're open-minded, you've got something going for
yourself (whatever that might be), and you want to.
