I am fun, interesting, and paranoid.
My Self-Summary
I don't really have a clue about what to say in here. I think I am
a nice person, kind and polite. I love
reading, going to the movies, listening
to music. My fav books are Milan Kundera's novels, though I also
love Mexican Literature (I am Mexican, I am a Literature
lecturer).
I think I have a good sense of humor, and more important, I am an
easy going person. I believe in respect, but I also love
teasing.
Well, I don't know what else to say, except that the fact that
being a Lit. lecturer, doesn't mean I bore people to death with
unimportant, meaningless info about books or writers. As a matter
of fact, I now only speak when I am asked to. LOL.
What I’m doing with my life
Just completed my PhD courses, and taking a break before completing
my thesis. Which means: going to the movies, surfing the net,
almost anything to forget I actually have to complete said thesis!
I’m really good at
I like listening to people, and I mean really listening. I am also
good at trying new things, as I'm not afraid of changes.
The first things people usually notice about me
I want to think that it's my sense of humour, but lately, someone
has been insisting a lot about my eyes, so I suppose they have
something I can no longer recognize.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Oh! Books!! My all time fav. novel is Milan Kundera's Unbearable
lightness of being, followed by Carlos Fuentes' Aura, and most
works of Rosario Castellanos. I also enjoyed "X generation" by
Douglas Coupland, though I found more interesting "Trainspotting"
by Irwine Welsh.
My movies... I think Wings of desire still tells me something, but
I just saw Persepolis and found it amazing. It speaks to me like
few other things lately.
Now, the soundtrack of my life is a very sui generis mix:
Pachelbel's Cannon and U2 albums, plus Suede and Pulp, then
Interpol and The Killers, then Arcade Fire and Modest Mouse, then
Chopin's works, The Klaxons and Muse, then...
Food. I just love eating, and more than that, trying new things.
Just had some Pakistani food a couple of months ago, and loved it!!
Tasty, spicy food, things that will remind my tongue what a
priviledge it is to be in her place!
The six things I could never do without
I have found lately that I am addicted to the internet, so that
would probably be one. Then, books, which leads me to coffee. Then,
music, specially my cds, but I am always open to listen to
something new... I cannot think exactly on something else, but I
think I could not do without that lovely feeling of being happy and
being alive, you know, like when putting things in perspective, you
realize it's not as bad as it could be: that sort of feeling.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lately, I wonder where did I go wrong...
On a typical Friday night I am
Driving back home, wondering if the truth is really out there
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
That I bite my nails, and can hardly control it.
You should message me if
If me being a lecturer didn't bore you just by reading it.
