I am Intuitive, Spiritual, and Sensual.
My Self-Summary
Animal lover, earth lover, holistic, political, belly-laugher,
lifelong learner, striving for cleaner living and cleaner eating
and a healthy and strong body, mind and spirit. An artistic soul,
intuitive, grounded, spiritual, sensual, soft-hearted,
strong-minded, powerful, present. Love art and culture, museums,
architecture, travel and adventure. Also, the satisfied sigh at the
end of a day well spent and the anticipation of a peaceful
evening.
I prefer alternative medicine, alternative philosophies, and an
organic outlook. New Thought and Metaphysics. Fascinated by people.
I love to spend a warm day outdoors by the water (any water) with
the sun on my face and a good book, watching and listening. Summer
skies at dusk and geese flying overhead take my breath away. Always
have my camera.
Lived and traveled in Europe, and want to experience all the
continents. Once a traveler, always a traveler ....
Childhood fantasies were: to be Dr. Doolittle and "talk to the
animals, walk with the animals," and to live on a horse farm. Ah,
to be young (Oh, well, not so much anymore!).
My heart's desire is to heal. I strive for purpose, to make a
contribution, and to have an effect on others and the world.
What I’m doing with my life
I am in transition, reinventing myself, once again searching for,
"What do I want to be when I grow up?" The corporate world is less
and less appealing over time as I'm drawn more and more to holistic
health, spirituality, metaphysics, mysticism, nutrition and body
work.
My first career was in counseling and Social Work, and I feel
called back to service in some way. More will be revealed!
Everyday I strive to be in the moment, to be available, to be
realigned with my passion and purpose. To laugh, to heal myself and
others, to make a difference and have an effect on everyone I meet.
I’m really good at
reading people, caring for others (both human and animal), creating
beauty, planning events, remembering faces, navigating, finding my
way, giving comfort, helping others find direction, laughing,
details, articulating, discerning, negotiating, research,
designing, reading out loud, solving problems, organizing others,
brainstorming.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am petite with big green eyes and a big personality. I SEE you. I
listen. I touch.
(Later on it's, "You look so young for your age!" and " You have
such tiny feet!")
Also, I am sometimes shy at first. And like a small flame that
grows into a roaring fire and settles into glowing embers, with the
right kindling I warm quickly.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
My taste in all things is eclectic. I am a voracious reader of
almost anything I can get my hands on, which is not always possible
in my sometimes busy life. I love mystery, drama, non-fiction,
history and historical fiction and non-fiction and even the
occasional trashy novel. I just finished "When Gods Die." Working
on "Radical Forgiveness." Some of my most well-worn books are used
regularly and remind me of my hopes, desires and values. Others are
for pure pleasure. I still remember a favorite book of my early
teens "Katherine." My voracity comes both from the pleasure of
being absorbed in story and character as well as the hunger and
thirst to KNOW and to LEARN.
I enjoy character and plot driven movies and historical and costume
dramas. I was as enchanted by last year's WallE as I am by some of
the classics, including Guess who's Coming to Dinner and To Sir
With Love, and musicals like Oklahoma. I was blown away by
Revolutionary Road a couple of weeks ago and moved to tears by
Earth.
I don't own much music. Rock, jazz, blues, classical, country,
alternative - it's all ok with me. I'm a sucker for the oldies. I
love piano and saxophone.
I've had foods from many cultures and countries, and it's almost
all fine with me. Well-prepared, tasteful and organic are my
preferences now. I celebrate the origins of food as much as the
food itself. Did you know we can change the molecular structure of
food and drink by appreciating it and expressing our gratitude?
Fascinating.
The six things I could never do without
books, and anything else in print, and my reading glasses
my camera
technology (you know, my cell, laptop and mobile broadband)
a bathtub
and, of course, Jesse, my cat
Also, NPR (essential!) and sunshine.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Touching Others and Creating Joy
Also -
Obama , - WOW!!! I am enthralled by his powerful presence,
groundedness and faith. Did you know we are drawn to those whose
traits we recognize in ourselves, both those we esteem and those we
judge? We are each others' mirrors.
Can this country, now, create peace in this world?
How do I get out of my own way?
Why people do what they do?
How do they get the toothpaste in the tube anyway?!?
What am I called to do? What does that expression look like? What
is my purpose?
Why do people litter?!? I just don't get it!!!
What are we going to do about the polar bears?
WHY CAN'T WE ALL GET ALONG?!?!?
On a typical Friday night I am
reflecting on the week and thinking about the weekend.
To clarify, I'm very active all through the week and the weekend,
so Friday night isn't particularly special in my life right now. I
may be out taking a class, at a women's circle, out with friends,
having dinner, at a bookstore, on a drive, shooting photos, at a
movie, practicing Reiki or other bodywork, or any number of other
things. Actually, often Fridays are quiet after a week of work and
play.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I honk for squirrels in the road. And I always stop to help an
injured animal.
You should message me if
you are authentic, honest, genuine, kind, gentle, loving, flexible,
secure, passionate, peaceful. Willing to work through breakdowns.
Committed to growth and development; a work in progress. Cares
about the earth and the world. Loves animals.
Ideally, I want laughter, conversation, comfortable silence. To
finish each other's sentences. To fit together; two peas in a pod,
two halves of a whole. AND, two whole people in and of themselves.
To challenge each other. And support each other.
In a relationship, my needs are for love, courtesy, support,
fairness, consideration, abundance and fun. And you?
Also, although it is certainly not essential, it helps if you have
some knowledge of and a familiarity with Judaism. While I'm much
more spiritual (and practicing New Thought these days) than I am
traditional in my present life, it is my ancestry, culture and
heritage and a part of what makes me who I am.
Bonus Points if you think I'm enchanting and you make my toes
curl!!!
