My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
[Note: I'm 46 but okc was only giving me matches 46 and up so I changed my age.]

I'm interested in a kindred spirit: someone that pursues new experiences and adventures, someone that is pragmatically ethical or spiritual--trying to be helpful to some and harmful to none. With emphasis on trying.

I'm a college lecturer and writer so find myself attracted to creative and intellectual types.

For writing, lately, I've been having fun freelancing as I get to write about topics that capture my attention.

Here's a couple fairly recent articles I sold--

Oh yeah, and I'm transgressive. While I appreciate the outward trappings such as tattoos and piercings, I'm more like Lou Reed (well, you know, except for writing some of the greatest music ever)--square on the outside but on the inside...
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Filling out this Internet dating website's exhaustive questionnaire exhaustively.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Bullshitting (as in talking or "shooting the shit," not as in prevarication), reading, writing, thinking, running, daydreaming, eating, critiquing, professing and any other -ing I've put a lot of time and effort into and continue to pursue...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My laugh...seen _Amadeus_? My eyes. My humor (hyperbolicious). My intelligence.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

A sampling of favorites--

Books: Trainspotting, The Brothers K, The Stand

Movies: Apocalypse Now, Donnie Darko, Amores Perros

Bands: Queens of the Stone Age, Led Zeppelin, The Cold War Kids, Jane's Addiction, Velvet Underground, Black Sabbath (with Ozzy)

Food: Consider myself a bit of a gourmand. "Foodie" is such a pedestrian word. And, yeah, I prefer pretentious over pedestrian--more interesting. My go to is good Mexican but huge fan of fromage and just love to try new stuff. Been some places in the world and always game to try the local delicacies such as mudbugs in NOLA; blood sausage and bull's testicles in Montevideo, Uruguay; a great steak--rare--in Madrid, Spain; steak tartare at Foucuet's on the Champs-Elysées in Paris, France and so on... Not a huge fan of mixing sweet and savory so no pineapple on my pizza, thanks!

Shows: The Shield, The Sopranos, The Wire, Generation Kill, 30 Rock (I added this last because all the others shows are violent, and I do love comedy and Tina Fey).

Quotes: “It is better to be lucky. But I would rather be exact. Then when luck comes you are ready.” --Ernest Hemingway, _The Old Man and the Sea_

“No creature can learn that which his heart has no shape to hold.” --Cormac McCarthy, _All the Pretty Horses_

“Personally, I believe that real rock ‘n’ roll may be on the way out, just like adolescence as a relatively innocent transitional period is on the way out. What we will have instead is a small island of new free music surrounded by some good reworkings of past idioms and a vast Sargasso sea of absolute garbage.” --Lester Bangs, _Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung_
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Since even my daughters aren't officially needs, these are really the six most important things to us in our lives, right?

My twin daughters
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Too much, but always more because I like thinking, brooding, contemplating, reflecting, analyzing, dissecting, cogitating--I'm a writer and academic, goes with the gig.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I try to dodge typical, but I'm either with my 2 daughts (pronounced "DOTS" and short for daughters), hanging with friends, or going to an event--like music, readings, plays, movies, roller derby and on and on, or staying in and enjoying some me time (movie, book, writing).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Nothing over the Internet, but we can play some Truth or Dare in person for nostalgia and just because it's wicked fun.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
For the same reason I'm going to shoot an arrow at you: you read my profile and found something you liked, and looked at my snaps and thought I was cute.

Oh, but if you're a psycho/creeper/super clingy PLEASE MAKE SURE TO MESSAGE ME!

That's for all y'all that tell those kinds of people not to message you, you know, because that has about as much chance of keeping those sorts away as what I just did.

Stay fly!

P.S. I'm a creep. I'm also cool and cute. Why are these words all alike? I'll give you a hint: it's not because they start with "c" or describe me, although another word that starts with a "c" is the reason...

"The game is afoot." _The Return of Sherlock Holmes_, "The Adventure of the Abbey Grange."

In addition to the reasons above to message me, please do so if you can answer this conundrum.

And if you employ the word "creep" in your profile in any way other than humorously, keep calm and clodhop along...
