My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Cheesehead by birth, raised in the suburbs of Chicago, went to school in Iowa and have been living in Maryland for the past 7 years.

I'm tend to be a serious person but can be really silly. I'm analytical, witty, occasionally sarcastic, an intellectual, and a quiet person, yet completely capable of carrying on, even dominating, a conversation if I find the topic fascinating.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I just started a new job. It's been an interesting transition, having moved to a very different environment than what I have been used to.

For the past year I've really been focusing on improving myself. I've been working out 5+ days a week and have also found an awesome church and a great group of people who have helped me renew my faith.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Solving problems, and helping other people with theirs. I seem to always end up being tech support for my coworkers. I also have to say that I am pretty darn good in the kitchen. My roast chicken gets rave reviews; it's a simple yet delicious dish.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I love Russian literature, classic literature, surrealism, and magical realism. Some of my favorite books are: Anna Karenina, Crime & Punishment, To Kill a Mockingbird, Animal Farm, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, 100 Years of Solitude, Lolita, Catch 22, Cat's Cradle, Slaughterhouse V, and Watership Down.

I have a bit of an obsession with Podcasts. I listen to a lot of the more popular ones (This American Life, Serial, etc.) But my guilty pleasure are the history podcasts. So far this summer I've finished The History of Rome, and 12 Byzantine Emperors, and have recently started The British History Podcast. I've always loved history, and this has been a great way to learn more. I use it as motivation to go walk/run nightly, by not allowing myself to listen to them unless I am exercising.

The 5 albums I'm currently listening to are:

Sigur Ros - Ágætis byrjun
Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell
Wilco - Star Wars
Sylvan Esso - Sylvan Esso
Microphones - The Glow, Pt 2

Food: Mexican, Indian, Sushi, Thai, etc. I enjoy trying new and exotic things, and will try almost anything once (excepting things that would make me sick)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Hmm, this is an ever changing list, but at the moment it is:

A sweater: They are great for cold winter days. I can wear one with a t-shirt for a casual look, or a shirt and tie if I need to look professional.
Podcasts - I don't know how I would survive my commute without something interesting to listen to.
My tab/phone. I'm such an information junkie that I love having all of that knowledge at my disposal.
Saturdays in the fall...Football, soccer, bonfires, what more could one ask for.
A great book.
A note pad to keep track of thoughts, make lists, and help me remember things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What would it be like to know everything that ever happened... I don't mean in a creepy voyeuristic sort of way (though that would be both disturbing and fascinating), but rather in terms of all the things that have happened throughout history that shaped our modern world but have been lost to time. Too many history podcasts I guess...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Some weeks I'm getting together with my men's group through church, other's I'm relaxing around the house, catching up on Netflix, or enjoying a fire outside if the weather is nice.

You want to: take me to your favorite bar/restaurant, or let me take you to mine, be my tour guide for a day, or think that getting up early to watch soccer, or staying up late to watch hockey sounds like a good time.
