My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My names Dave, and I'm a full time graduate student at Georgia State University. I've been focused on Neuroscience for the past 2 years and currently work in a lab focused on studying neural plasticity using the visual system.

Can't wait to bike around the city, pick up some great spots to meet new people and try new things. Head up to the Chattahoochee and kayak for a weekend, or water ski with friends. Atlanta is going to be fun.

I don't really consider myself an artsy type, but I do really enjoy photography. Whenever possible I like to take out my camera and shoot random pictures of people, places, things, etc. The best shots are the ones you aren't posing for!

Though I don't advertise it, I am a fairly energetic debater and love to go on about topics like the ethics of stem cell research or the health care reforms, foreign policy, religion, etc.

Not sure what all I'm expecting to find on here, maybe just a friendly hello or an interesting conversation with some people... hopefully more.
And hopefully getting to know the area and meet some cool people from around here.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Graduated from a state college in Michigan, and starting my Ph.D at GSU in Neuroscience research. Lots of studying and lab work in my future. If I can fit a little bit of personal photography in from time to time, that works perfectly for me.
So those are the long term plans, short term...I'm looking to enjoy this summer as best as I possibly can. Also looking to get myself back into the amazing shape I was in a few years ago.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being reliable. But of a personal nature im a great councilor for my friends or family.
I love finding ways to be romantic with whoever im with at the time.
Photography is something I picked up awhile back and have enjoyed doing ever since. I'm an okay sketch artist, and I recently learned to play some basic stuff on the keyboard.

Turned out that I'm really good at keeping to a grueling 2 workouts a day schedule, especially when I'm motivated to reach a goal. At the moment I want to be able to consistently bench 250 lbs within the next 2 months.

I spent a few months becoming proficient at Starcraft 2, if for no other reason than it taught me to multitask like a champ, and its a fairly fun game.

Going through TV series I love in record time. From Doctor Who, to Spartacus, Dexter, Warehouse 13, etc...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Um, probably that I'm tall. After that, probably that I have a fairly energetic personality.

I can rock a pretty nice beard as well.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Sci-Fi/fantasy books. Specifically the entire Enders Game series, and Inheritance Cycle. I recently read the Golden Compass novels and loved them. Harry Potter will always be amongst my favorites.

I love all kinds of movies; action films, some chick flicks, comedies, etc. Right now im really looking forward the James Camerons next Avatar movie. Love all of Robin William's old films.

Favorite shows; SPARTACUS!, Newsroom, Last Week Tonight, Breaking Bad, Big Bang Theory, Dexter, Doctor Who, Real Time with Bill Maher, various shows on Travel Channel (most with Anthony Bourdain), Warehouse 13, Leverage, Game of Thrones, House of Cards.

I love all kinds of music, only a bit of country and rap. But I love a good deal of techno, opera, classical orchestra, classical piano, pop. Classic Rock is a personal favorite. To be honest though I find myself listening to the new rock more often now than I do the classic. Rise Against seriously seems to come out with my new favorite song every 6 months or so. Adele, Alexi Murdoch, Linkin Park, 30 Seconds to Mars, All American Rejects, Third Eye Blind, The Verve Pipe, Hawthorne Heights, Evans Blue, Chicago, REO Speedwagon, Matchbox 20. A weird thing i find a lot of other people actually enjoy as well is old Disney movie soundtracks. Lion King especially will always hold a place in my heart. Tarzan and Aladdin are great as well. Also really enjoying Broadway soundtracks; Book of Mormon, Spamalot, Wicked, Aladdin. Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog.

Honestly in love with homemade food I make myself now. Too much fast food over the past few years makes homemade pasta, salads, burgers, and steaks so much more appetizing.

Sort of been doing the healthy food thing for the past few months. Lots of yogurt, fruits, sandwiches, and water.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My family
cell phone
rain (weird i know, but i love listening to and smelling the rain)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Neuroscience research, school, random questions the I'm curious about finding answers to, when my next trip down the river will be coming.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with friends, or working on research stuff. Would rather be spending it with someone special, or at least get out and meet new people.

I could also just enjoy a nice relaxing night at home honestly.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I would love to find myself in a meaningful relationship sometime in the next few months. But I'm all for taking it slow, and getting to know each other along the way.
