My self-summary
I will try most things twice, provided that they do not kill me on the first try. When I commit a gaffe, I pretend that I meant to do it, so that people who pointed it out feel like fools for not being in on the joke. It does not always work. (But I kid)

Seriously, though. I am a laid-back and non judgmental person. Family and friends mean a lot to me. I am close with my parents and siblings. I have a group of good friends that I can rely on for anything - and vice versa.

My sense of humor comes from watching Conan, Jon Stewart and Colbert. Also, I went to a 'ghetto' middle school where the ability to come up with a good burn (i. e. stinging insult) quickly was necessary to earn street credibility and respect.

Of course, I have become more refined since middle school. I went to a New England prep school after that, where I learned to be PC and tie a necktie (among other things).

Running is my preferred cardio exercise, though I enjoy swimming in the summer. I also play tennis and am getting into lifting. When I want to have an adventure, I take weekend trips to Big Sur or Tahoe (or other great places in CA) to go hiking. I love being on the water too, whether kayaking or jet skiing.
What I’m doing with my life
Going with the flow. I am an attorney by training but have some entrepreneurial tendencies. Law school helped me realize that the big firm / corporate law track was unfulfilling. So I am doing something different.

I started my own law practice in 2010 (landlord tenant law). My goal is to get a lean operation going and then scale it up. So far so good. I enjoy being my own boss and not having to toil in the shadow of the Man.

I also try to do good for others in addition to doing well myself. So I devote some time to cases on a pro bono basis. Currently I am making life miserable for several slumlords in Nor Cal.
I’m really good at
Reasoning and listening. Relaxing. Following through and having a good time. Waking up with killer bedhead. Scrabble and Jenga. Making random comments that I think are funny and then feeling sad if they do not get a laugh from others.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I am brown. My posture. My sense of humor. My sister says that I have nice ears, which I think is just a veiled insult to the rest of my face.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - Catcher in the Rye, All the King's Men. I tend to read magazines and newspapers more often than books, like the Economist or NYT.

Music - Classical, Jazz, R&B, Rock and Electronic. And whatever I discover in my explorations on Pandora or Spotify. Lately I have been listening to: Starfucker, Foster the People, and Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. U2 and Thievery Corporation are longtime favorite groups of mine.

TV - Colbert Report is brilliant; Tosh.0 is wonderful. BBC and other legitimate news networks (so not Faux News). Otherwise, I do not watch much TV. Not that I think there is nothing good on; there are just better things to do with my free time.

Food - All kinds, but especially Mediterranean, Indian, Japanese, Mexican and Thai. I have become interested recently in superfoods that can be eaten raw, like blueberries and kale.
The six things I could never do without
Other than the obvious necessities (e.g. water, food, shelter):

Family & Friends, Exercise, Technology
Music and Nature
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Clients and cases. What to do for fun. Political and economic issues. Funny situations. And a lot of other random stuff.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with friends (or in)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I recently watched an episode of My Little Pony (at the urging of my bro's girlfriend) and did not think it was half bad.
