What I’m doing with my life
I grew up in the DC area, and I moved back in Jan. 2008 after about
10 years in Boston and NYC for college + work + grad school + more
work. I'm happy to be back. Living in NYC was definitely fun, but
overwhelming and difficult in lots of ways too. I'm enjoying
getting to know my hometown more as an adult.
I work as a journalist, on a publication you probably don't read -- it has a very specific focus. But I like it for the most part.
My passion is theater. I used to act in college and sometimes I miss it. I sing in a chorus here in town (not the gay men's chorus), but I don't get quite the same magical feeling I once got from being in musicals.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
A: Mostly long form journalism or nonfiction. I'd usually rather
read a newspaper than a novel. I'm generally always carrying the
latest New Yorker in my bag.
I've also recently set out to read some of the books on my shelf that I was supposed to have finished in grad school but didn't.
B: Waiting for Guffman, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, Napoleon Dynamite
C: I am that rare being that likes both musical theater and indie rock in mostly equal measure.
D: Thai and other ethnic cuisines. There's a fantastic Burmese restaurant in Silver Spring.

The Internet, conversation, nonalcoholic cranberry-based beverages,
my cat, and as much as it pains me to admit it... my DVR. (It now
drives me crazy to watch TV with commercials.)
