My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a standard mid-western, pull yourself up by the bootstraps self-starter with real mid-management potential (joke).

I enjoy taking advantage of good weather, being active and collecting life experiences as if they were merit badges.

I subscribe to the rubber-band principle of a relationship. Too much tension and it snaps, too little and it does nothing, just right and it keeps things together.

Other notes:
-I like using obscure references
-I think dead baby jokes are only mildly offensive
-I watch Love, Actually every year at Christmas
-My dog is better behaved than many children
-I give a *funk* about the Oxford Comma; points if you know the reference
-As of now, I am in training for the Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Of the five main "DC Careers," I am a consultant. I also stay pretty active and try to leave the country at least once a year. I still have a long list of boxes needing to be checked.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
"Really Good" may be an exaggeration but I've been told I'm alright at: Cooking; humor (if witty/dry/sarcastic are your thing); pool; fixing things; games of skill; planning; playing well with others; and coloring inside the lines.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My exotic complexion? My mad football skillz? My club foot? Well, I lack each of these but I've got blue eyes that everyone in my family shares. And I've heard I look younger than I am (thanks, Dad!).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Currently reading Dirty Wars: the World is a Battlefield.

Movies: Top Gun, Casablanca, Shawshank. I religiously use Rotten Tomatoes as my movie guide.

Shows: Despite being an Over-the-Air devotee, I miss my cable shows. Really like It's Always Sunny, 30 Rock, and the like. Can't wait for the new season of House of Cards.

Music: I rock me some Sirius radio in my car and it's almost always on Alt Nation. Recently taken a liking to Foster the People, fun., and others. Long-time favorites include The Black Keys, Radiohead, and Nine Inch Nails.

Food: Does all count? Little put-off by my first experience with Ethiopian, not ecstatic about Chinese and can only eat Brussel Sprouts when roasted with tons o' toppings. All in for everything else.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The Outdoors.
My Passport (obligatory gag is warranted).
Bread.
Cheese.
Friends and family.
Freedom. Is that too 'Murica? I just think I don't like being told what to do. How about whiskey?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Puppy dogs and ice cream.
The "game" of life.
My next trip.
Politics; begrudgingly.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably out with some friends, whether at dinner, a bar, or someone's place. I might also be at home early if I have training planned for early the following morning. Most likely, I'll still go out and get up Saturday morning short on sleep and mildly dehydrated.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Brand new car + Brand new Thule roof rack + Road bike secured to said rack + Parking garage = the fastest way to remove a bike and rack from a car roof. Facepalm
