My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
A small foreword before the 'me' part of the profile: I understand the dynamic of this site. I get that being a female on here means you get inundated with trite (sometimes at best) messages, which makes this feel more like a job than anything else. So, hey, if you're here because I sent you a message, take a moment: pour a glass of wine, kick off your shoes, and put on some Chopin. No pressure, the mere fact that you took the time to visit is appreciated.

I’m a firm believer in the Golden Rule, Karma, whatever you want to call it; do right by others and they will do right by you. I’m very even-keeled, I almost never get mad but I also rarely get so excited that I start jumping up and down. I like discovering new music and going to concerts, even more so with good company. Some of the other things I enjoy include hiking, taking drives (not always with a destination in mind), spending time with loved ones, cooking and Cheeseburgers (!). My friends say it is impossible for me to lie convincingly and I cannot hold a grudge for more than a day.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently working as an Operational Analyst for a fairly large international company. My career is actually pretty close to my dream job; I'm just currently doing it in the wrong industry.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
How about some of the things I'm not very good at? Not so much as an act of self deprecation, but more because I get tired of the 'Celebration of ME' that writing a profile devolves into:

-- I am horrible at telling stories. I've always known this, but it recently came to light for some of my friends. I swear for the rest of the night it was 'Hey, tell that story about the time...'

-- If I'm embarrassed you'll be able to tell easily. Bright red, maybe some sweating depending on the severity. This was on full display during the above storytelling session.

-- If there is ice cream in the freezer or cookies in the cupboard, I will eat them...sometimes in a binge-fashion. The only reason I'm not about 200 pounds heavier is because I can practice the self restraint in the grocery store for 20 minutes that I cannot practice at home full time.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books -- This jumps around, how about I just list some books that are in a pile nearby:

A Dance with Dragons. George RR Martin
Stumbling on Happiness. Dan Gilbert
Strength in what Remains. Tracy Kidder
No More Mr. Nice Guy. Robert Glover
Making the World Work Better. Some IBM hype book
A Tale of Two Cities. Charles Dickens
Midnight Tides. Steven Erikson

Movies -- I like movies, but don't really have a passion for them. Action and Comedy are my go-to genres.

Shows -- Recently got into Grimm. Top Gear entertains me to no end. Friends will always be near the top of my list.

Music -- Another eclectic category, here's a sampling of my current playlist: Jay-Z/Kanye, Marianas Trench, Parachute, Chiddy Bang, All Time Low, The Material, The Dangerous Summer, Mayday Parade, Lights, Jason Mraz, Ellie Goulding, ad nauseam.

Food -- Pretty much anything, although I'm not very keen on swimmers. I equally enjoy discovering new restaurants / types of cuisine, as well as experimenting with recipes I've never made before.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Worrying that this profile has become too long to maintain anyone's interest. A round of applause if you've stuck with me this far.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'll be honest, I'm not going to break the mold with any answer I put's going to be the same thing that's in everybody's profile: bars, friends, shows, parties, etc. (Clubs are conspicuously absent, not really my scene)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My AIM username (how's that for a throwback?) contained the word 'phat' because Will Smith mentioned it in an interview I saw on MTV in the sixth grade. Mr. Smith said that the word was an acronym that stood for 'Pretty Hot And Tempting'. Yup, gettin' jiggy with it.
