My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm that guy all the movies make the roommate or school chum of the main character. Charming and goofy, fun for everyone to be around and always in a funny shirt. Think of me as a cross between Silent Bob and Brodie from Mallrats. I am working to be the eccentric old professor the main character goes to for advice in those movies. I am fascinated all the time by sometimes incredibly mundane things but I think that sense of wonder is what makes life fun. I watch a ton of movies listen to a huge array of music and generally try to make the best of each moment. Best I can say really.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am working as a college professor teaching argumentation, Small group communication, interpersonal communication and public speaking. Driving around Northern California so I can stop and see all the pretty stuff that lives outside the city.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm a good listener and problem solver. I'm a very good cook, or so I am told. I'm a pretty good artist though without studio space I'm limited to digital photography making really nice syllabi for my classes. I've actually got a pretty damn good singing voice, at least I did, I think I still do. My rockbandmates seem to agree... I hope.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Honestly I don't know, I used to say my beard but I'm not sure if that's accurate.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
(BOOKS) Neil Gaiman, Donald Miller, Steven R. Donaldson, JRR Tolkien, Douglas Adams, Jim Butcher, Arturo Perez-Reverte, Harlan Ellison, Chuck Klosterman, David Forester Wallace, PJ O'Rourke, CS Lewis

(MOVIES) Snatch, Brazil, Time Bandits, Die Hard, Stand By Me, Dark City, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Layer Cake, Highlander, Hudson Hawk, B- Vampire Movies, Old School Kung Fu movies, Fifth Element, Blade Runner, Kevin Smith movies, Clue, Murder by Death

(MUSIC) It's hard to explain... I love a lot of varied types of music. I can find something I enjoy in almost every genre. However I don't like everything I hear. I did a lot of big venue concerts when I was younger and now I prefer smaller venues with indie artists. If I had to pick a genre I think I'd fall into Indie or Singer/Songwriter? things like Ellis Paul, Antje Duvekot and Tiger Darrow.

(FOOD) I am a big fan of meat and cheese really. I am also a big fan of sushi as long as you leave out the avocado. I am not a fan of Thai, well the food is okay but it's small and I feel like a barbarian. Honestly I suppose I am really picky but I have no idea how if that makes any sense? People keep telling me I am and I don't get it at all.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) My Mom, she's the person who calls me out when no one else will and the person will will support me the same way. 2) My friends, they are the people who love me for who I am even when that means never letting me live something down. 3) My music collection, I have a very deep connection with my music. 4) My film and TV collection, it is not only a big part of my work it's a big part of how I relate to my world. 5) My techie bits, I'm terrible with a lot of things and I use my computers to keep my life in order. 6) Alone time, I'm an introvert and while I love people I often need time on my own.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The impacts of speaking, the ways people communicate with one another and how that forms our society. The meaning of culture. How to live a good life and what living a "good" life means. Also many random things, and I mean random: Art, Politics, Architecture, Boobs, Varieties of Cheese, Broadband Spectrum Allocation, Northern California History, Anime... random.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably spending time with friends playing some kind of game, either a board game, a drinking game or a role playing game.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Aside from a few lingering body issues I have very little self doubt. To the point where I am very self assured about how my life will turn out. I am certain that i will be prosperous and happy in whatever state I am in.
