My self-summary
There are so many ways this part can go horribly wrong, and probably will, that it's probably better to let the questions be asked, than to offer too much information, but in brief:

I am "me." I try to be the best "me" possible. "Me" is a work in progress, as it should be. There is always room for improvement.

This statement is not as original as it should be, but it is completely accurate.

I am the frog. I want to learn to be more like the scorpion, but I am always the frog.

I belong to MENSA. I like to walk in the rain. I enjoy the company of animals. And I compare myself to a grilled cheese sandwich made of chevre and squaw bread, with perhaps just a bit of pesto: familiar, traditional, and yet surprisingly "outside the box."

I am intellectual, inquisitive, and introspective

I’m really good at
Here again, trouble.

I'm good at being thorough, and also at being lazy. On the flip side, I am also good at being tenacious. Maybe even tenacious at being lazy... I'll have to ponder that one.

On occasion I have been known to be quite the cook. Though I still can't quite get my sourdough to come out right. :{

And I'm sure some members of my family would say that I am really good at being a pain in the butt.

The first things people usually notice about me
I believe it's my eyes. I really wouldn't know. It's not really something that everyone tells you... "hey your earlobes are quite long" or "my, my, such flat fingernails you have." I mean really... That's why there's pictures. You decide what you notice first. :)

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I enjoy reading escapist novels: SF&F in particular. The Chronicles of Amber. The Annals of the Black Company.
The High King. I like mythology and fables - because they are imaginative and educational. I read for entertainment, so the less reality involved the better.

Movies: Azumi, Donnie Darko, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Monty Python, Godfather, Halloween, Firestarter, The Neverending Story 1 & 2 (not exactly manly, but oh well), Tall Tale. I'm very ecclectic in my tastes. Sometimes it's comedy, sometimes it's horror, but it's always about the story.

Music: My collection has everything from classical to bagpipes, punk to funk, speed metal and country. Again with the ecclecticism.

Ahh, food. I will try anything and everything. I've eaten escargot, balut, caviar (the expensive Iranian/Russian stuff, not the cheap garbage), brains, sweetbreads, etc. I enjoy the artistry of sushi as well as its textures and flavors. If it won't kill me, I'll try it. Comfort food = pizza and fresh baked bread.

The six things I could never do without
Aside from the obvious: food, air, water, light... that leaves two...

1) Something to draw with - finger in sand, pencil on paper, anything. I'm always doodling. It helps clear the mind.

2) A sense of humor - without it the ridiculousness of anything and everything would be completely lost. Then what would the fun be?

One extra, just in case
3)Time to contemplate - the meaning of life, my bellybutton, Stewie Griffin, anything - it sort of goes with #2 but is at the same time completely independent

I spend a lot of time thinking about
If people's knees bent the other way, how would a chair be designed?

Why can't humans understand animal speech? It's obvious my dog and cat understand each other.

Why are oranges and blueberries not called blues and orangeberries?

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?

Why are yogurt and cheese considered edible when sour milk isn't?

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a pet parent. My cat and dog are my kids. And the kids come first. :)

***Ok, I saw a REAL pet parent today. She and her dog had matching outfits. o.O***

And I used to weigh 300 lbs or so. I worked hard to lose it, but I enjoy good food, not necessarily healthy food. So a little slacking off and I gained a few back. Time to get to the gym! *whip crack*
