My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Holy crap! You're reading my profile. If only you knew what you were getting yourself into.

I'm a froody genderqueer androgynous dude who always knows where his towel is. I'm employed in the tech sector in what I'm told is a pretty heady and important field: database technology, albeit at the beginning of my career with the "junior" title and all. I attend Burning Man yearly and I try to travel internationally every few years or so.

I enjoy kitties, delicious alcoholic drinks, unicorns, long walks on the beach, romantic candlelit dinners and cliches.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working a lot. Also trying to get out more to see my friends who are spread out really far across this big, stupid city.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I absorb useless facts and more-or-less have them on tap from then on. I also am fairly good at flow arts, specifically staff and sword, though I dabble in hoop, poi, and contact juggling.

If there's a talent I can legitimately lay claim to being "really good" at, it's probably cooking. Having gone vegetarian at an early age in an area with crappy dining options for vegetarians, I quickly learned how to make tasty foods from scratch. I can't bake worth a damn though, as that's more of a matter of chemistry that goes well beyond the most basic properties of raw ingredients.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My hair. It's usually blue, sometimes it's other colors, never my natural one.

My T-shirts. They often reference video games that came out in 1994 or earlier.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, Breakfast of Champions, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, The Master and Margarita, The Doors of Perception and a lot of crappier, less impressive works of literature.

Nowadays, I read a lot of comics, since my e-book reader is a Nexus 7 generation 2, with a gorgeous high-res screen. My favorites so far are almost all on the DC Vertigo label: Sandman, Transmetropolitan, The Invisibles, and Shade: The Changing Man. I'm also eagerly awaiting each new trade paperback of Saga, and am cursing the fact that Lucifer, despite being somewhat old, isn't all digital yet.

Movies: Pulp Fiction, Hobo With A Shotgun, My Neighbor Totoro, Akira Kurosawa's Dreams, The City of Lost Children, Waking Life, The Fountain, Oldboy(original), The Big Lebowski, The Hudsucker Proxy, Groundhog Day, Anchorman, Dredd, and Tokyo Gore Police.

Shows: Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: TNG, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, King of the Hill, Futurama, Adventure Time, and okay, goddammit, I'll just say it. Trailer Park Boys.

Music: Sometimes this section in peoples' OKCupid profiles grows wildly out of control to the point where you think, "Holy shit! Even this person's fixed gear bicycle has a beard and possibly a favorite pony". I'll just list some albums that I listen to a lot, which you may or may not have heard of, as opposed to a bunch of artists I might have made up. They might very well be of wildly varying artistic credibility if you feel the need to assign objective qualities to subjective appreciation.

The Beatles - Abbey Road
Mr. Bungle - California
Shpongle - Tales of the Inexpressible
Aphex Twin - Drukqs
Ott - Blumenkraft
Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains - The Great Big Eyeball In the Sky
The Beatles(again) - Let it Be
Portishead - Roseland Live NYC
Radiohead - OK Computer
Beats Antique - Blind Threshold
Griz - Mad Liberation
Tricky - Maxinquaye
Tipper - Broken Soul Jamboree
Pretty Lights - A Color Map of the Sun
Lynx - Light Up Your Lantern

Food: Vegetarian things. Sriracha. Thai, Mexican, Indian, and Italian cuisines tend to be my favorites. Avocados, even though I'm allergic to them. I refuse to be guacblocked by my allergy.

Beverages: Tea, gin, and beer.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My cat - Technically not a "thing" but a "being", but she's not people, dig?

Macbook Air - It's my DJ rig, I play most of my video games on it, and I'm using it for OKCupid.

Google Nexus 7 - I read comics on it. Also non-graphic books sometimes.

A decent teapot - preferably one at home and one at the office, both of which are for the forseeable future, cast-iron tetsubin teapots, well equipped for brewing just about anything but matcha.

Video games - I play these a lot. Less now that I'm an adult with real responsibilities, but paradoxically, I have more of them because I can afford them.

Food - Literally in the sense that without nutrients I'd waste away and that would kind of suck, and figuratively in that this is the way in which I feel most comfortable in expressing myself and showing affection for others by preparing foods that they enjoy.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Do I survive because of my inability to take most things seriously, or in spite of it?

Do 1/4" audio adapters have the magical property of never being around when you need one right that second?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Fauxhawk fridays. Why the flying faux not?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am, despite my best efforts, a nonfictional entity in control of a physical body that has mass and occupies three-dimensional space, and even more embarrassing, I move forward through time in a more-or-less linear fashion.

I once did black metal improv karaoke. My lyrics, you ask? CUPCAKES AND RAINBOWS.

I don't really smoke cigarettes, but I do vaporize nicotine pretty frequently. I don't know where that falls on the hierarchy of filthy habits, because it doesn't make me short of breath or smell like an ashtray, but maybe if my device's tank cracks I might smell like earl grey tea or mangoes or something.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If anything here intrigues you and you would like to contact me for whatever reason. I won't stop you.

If you're shy. Me too.

If you want to meet me at pillow fight club(I'm pretty sure I made that up but it sounds cool, let's not talk about it).

If you want to exchange Nintendo friend codes or Steam usernames and play something. I'm especially looking for people with WiiUs for Mario Kart 8 action.

I'd also like to find people who play pen and paper RPGs, as this is a new interest of mine. Especially if it's Shadowrun 5th Edition.

If you have music recommendations. Despite my sparse list, I try to eat a highly diverse musical diet.
