My self-summary Propose an edit
I'm a 28 year old guy just trying to find his way in this town. I'm
extremely laid back. I prefer to hang out with a few friends, maybe
spend a quiet afternoon at the local bar before it gets too
crowded, chatting with the bartender and drinking martinis. Gin. So dry the olive
has dust.
I'm extremely sarcastic, and I have a caustic wit. I like to rant
about the little things that bother me, even though, on a grand
scale, they don't really bother me that much.
I dislike people who always need to be the center of attention, of
which there's hundreds on the internet. Just look at all the people
on myspace who have 5000 friends. How well do you think they know
any one of them, eh?
I sometimes feel I've been born in the wrong time period. I have a
vast appreciation of the 1920's and 1930s. I enjoy art deco. When I have time to kill, I
like to go for a drive, or head to disneyland with my season pass.
Yes, I'm a total nerd and geek. I play World of Warcraft, and I was
one of those dorks in high school that sat off in the corner with
the other nerds and played Dungeons and Dragons. I
also read comic
books and play xbox.
I hear being a nerd is slowly becoming more popular, though
frankly, I haven't seen any evidence to back that claim up.
I enjoy all things Halloween, I worked at Knott's
Halloween
Haunt for the last four years or so. I enjoy plastic skeletons,
cheap halloween decorations, and poorly made horror films. I have a
tattoo of a jack o' lantern on my
back.
I currently have a girlfriend, so I'm not interested in looking for
a relationship.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
I used to study radio broadcasting at a
community college nearby, but realized that there's no market for
radio dramas
and documentaries, and there's very
little money to be made. I'm trying to assemble a home studio so I
can do production on my own terms in my spare time.
I'm currently an Emergency Medical Technician, or EMT. I get to drive and work in an
ambulance all day. It's an okay job. Don't know where I want to go
from here though.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Listening to other people, even when I don't have a lot of advice
to give.
Writing. Even though at times my spelling may leave something to be
desired, I fancy myself a bit of a writer. When I was young, I
wanted to be a writer when I grew up.
Cooking. I enjoy cooking every so often, especially to entertain
company or friends. I make killer waffles, with whipped cream,
powdered sugar, and strawberries on top.
I also can hold my own as far as intelligent conversation goes. I
don't care about Paris Hilton or what's "hot". I like to engage in
entertaining discussions.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
The fact that I'm 6'3". That I am extremely quirky, some might say
geeky or odd.
My sarcasm and wit.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
A) And The Ass Saw the
Angel, Imajica, The Long Goodbye, The Wind in the
Willows, Neuromancer, M*A*S*H. I am currently on a
Raymond
Chandler kick. His writing has a pure poetic flow to it that
really captures gritty Los Angeles. Right now, I'm thoroughly
enjoying The
Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay.
B) The Big
Lebowski, Run
Lola Run, The Princess and the
Warrior, O Brother Where Art
Thou!, 28
Days Later, Henry Fool, Night of the Living
Dead, Army of Darkness, Casablanca, Beat the Devil,
Charade. I have a
thing for bad horror movies, Film Noir, and classic,
golden age cinema.
C) Tom Waits,
Nick Cave,
NIN, Sparklehorse, Alkaline Trio, Death Cab for
Cutie, The Postal Service, The 88, and a whole slew of
others too numerous to think of on demand. I have a wide variety of
tastes, but prefer bands with a unique sound that can maintain some
semblance of traditional music structure. I also enjoy jazz, and I'm not reffering to
the type of jazz they play in elevators. Dixieland jazz always gets me
tapping my feet, and I also enjoy Benny Goodman and Cab Calloway.
I never really got into contemporary country music, hip hop,
R&B, or Rap. Sorry.
D) I enjoy italian food, mexican food, essentially, living in
Southern California, it's hard not to like pretty much every type
of food there is. You can find it all here.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
Internet Access, Xbox, My Computer, My Cell Phone, my friends, and
my cat. He's badass.
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
What I'm going to be doing after work. Thinking of places to go to
use my vacation time. I always look forward to the weekend, and
make plans accordingly.
What the hell was Stan Lee smoking when he thought up "Silver
Surfer"? A metallic dude who rides a surfboard through space?
Ugh.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
Hanging out with my friends, enjoying a drink at my local watering
hole, or having a few friends over and watching DVDs at my
apartment. Either that, or geeking out reading comics or
playing xbox or board games with my friends.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
Once, as a child, before I was prescribed glasses, I mistakenly
walked into the womans restroom at the local roller skating joint
because I couldn't read the sign. To make matters worse, this was a
"school rollerskating night" so I walked into a girls restroom full
of dames from my elementary school class. It took me a while to
live that one down.
You should message me if Propose an edit
If you can carry on an interesting conversation, shoot me a line.
If you have any stories to tell, I'd love to hear them. I love
hearing stories and confessions from people. Most of all, if you're
a cool person, and just want to chat, hit me up.
You should also message me if you know what the hell Stan Lee was
smoking when he thought up the Silver Surfer.
