If you are under 18, you are not authorized to use this Website and will not be afforded access to any features of this Website that allow for you to provide information to us or to share information with other users of this Website. I really think people should have to show proof of age to have a profile, to eliminate the teenagers.)

Temporary Move
Jun 19, 2012
My subletor is coming on Monday, so I really have to crank up getting this place ready and ME ready to go. I packed a big tote bag of blankets and sheets today and brought it to my new temporary place. I went to National Wholesale Liquidators in his neighborhood, and bought toiletries: soaps, shampoos, powder, tooth paste, etc., so I won't have to bring it up with me on Monday. I measured the windows to get curtains, but the 2 bags of liquids were too heavy to carry anything else. I picked a couple of more boxes on the way home and started putting the taped boxes on my bookshelves. I decided not to spend the money on a storage unit in the basement if I don't have to. Heard by email from an HR contact for Sept. work. Still more people to call and follow up on. Will be getting the cleaning service in here on Friday, need to talk to them tomorrow.
I am wondering if the people on here who say they are 20 years old or 21 years old are really under 18? Aren't there laws to prevent this and does anyone check? I have personally been propositioned by a couple of 21 year old boys on this site and always say no. Ms. SickProbo, for one, seems like she could be 16 years old. (How's that living with your parent thing working out for you, Ms. Probo?)

Journals
Jun 17, 2012
I am really dismayed at the nasty comments posted on my journal. The very people who claim that I don't like their comments because they disagree with me, give me a nasty argument and call me names and worse because I don't agree with THEM. One girl unbelievably got all upset because I said "We don't work 24 hours/day" instead of "I don't work 24 hours/day". Never mind the riot caused by my saying "special ed" (some people think it's a dirty word) no riot caused by my saying "vagina". Let's not forget the people who think no one knew about Hitler, you know I don't agree with you either, but you have the rights to your opinions as long as you don't call me nasty names. (you're stupid and YOU CALL YOURSELF A TEACHER, a top ten standard, should be on itunes)
I have over 100 followers on Twitter, I am sure I express my opinion, and disagree with many, no one has EVER gotten nasty and insulting as they do here.
Well I have had it. I keep this journal because I like writing. I don't care if you comment or not. So in the spirit of that, with all the insults, all future comments will be set to "pending the author's approval".

Swan Lake: Dib dib dab deau
Jun 16, 2012
http://youtu.be/giMQ05Q97mU via @youtube
Went to Lincoln Center today and it was very nice. This is my favorite part of Swan Lake. Making chicken, mushrooms, scallions, and yellow rice. Going to the personnel dept. of the DOE next week so they can help me with my substitute application. They actually told me on the phone to come on in. Imagine that! Will try to find out if I can sub over the summer, while I am in the Bronx. Also heard from one of the offices of the DOE Adult Ed. Packed up 2 boxes so far. Need to concentrate on writing a letter to UI tomorrow. That will be the job tomorrow.
Fire in Connecticut
Jun 12, 2012
Perhaps you remember the fire in Stamford, Connecticut where 3 children and their Grandmother died. I do know the contractor of that house, Michael Borcina, from a share house on Fire Island. Watching HGTV as I do. I am quite aware of how floors are supposed to be fire resistant from one floor to another and how this is very often not done. (Watch Holmes on Holmes-hero contractor, who finds faulty renovation jobs and fixes them to comply with fire safety codes and other infractions.) The Stamford house went up in flames like a match box. Naturally Michael Borsina, being friends with the Mayor, had the house ripped down the next day "a safety hazard", so matters as such as fire code violations could not be investigated. I hate what this country has become, so corrupt. The crooks always win and the innocent are burned to death.
Bullies and Trolls
Jun 12, 2012
I prefer not to associate with bullies and trolls in my "real life" off the internet. Unfortunately, in the anonymity of cyberspace, people seem to feel free to act out their bullying fantasies. We know that bullying is a problem in the schools. We know that children and teens who have been bullied have taken it to heart to such a degree that they have committed suicide. But yet, on this site, bullying is at the most ignored, and at it's worst, desired.
Unfortunately women with strong opinions seem to attract these cyberbullies. That and an easy insult is, "YOU'RE A TEACHER AND YOU SAID THAT!" which is always good for a bullying chuckle. Teachers are belittled in the news and by politicians today and are an easy target. That's the key with bullies, they want an easy target.
Mob rule also plays a part in cyberbullying. And in my opinion, many men get their jollies from bullying women.
It is sad that there are people out there that feel good when they think they make someone else feel bad. I do not feel bad. I feel sorry for you, bullies and ignoramuses.

Happy in my apt
Jun 12, 2012
So happy here in my jewel like apt. Will miss it so much! Must think of this subletting as a job. It's really a blessing to have the extra money.
Making chili with ground beef, onions, garlic, red pepper, mushroom and black bean. Also yellow rice with my standard, tumeric. Also cumin and hot sauce. Smells so good in here. Finished the job of defrosting one of my 2 small refrigerators. It was really ice packed, and now it works much better, keeping things cold. Will get more boxes tomorrow to pack up.
Watching my favorite, HGTV. Life is good, that's a T-shirt.
Swan Lake
Jun 12, 2012
Going to see the Australian Ballet do Swan Lake at Lincoln Center on Saturday. Making a meat/veggie chili tonight with mushrooms and corn added. Updated my application in the New Teacher finder for the DOE so that it now reflects my 4 teaching licenses.
Received a letter from the DOE about renewing my sub application. Seems that I am now OK to substitute in the Sub Central computer program, after working and getting paid for my work in the Bronx. Only thing is, I couldn't renew my application from my computer, the buttons on the screen didn't work. So I went to Kinko's thinking it's a Macintosh glitch, but it didn't work there either. I will try to call them tomorrow. Maybe the application is already approved. Who knows, with the DOE?
Picked up a box from a local bar and will need to get more from the liquor store to empty out my dressers for the sublet. Going to an interview on Friday for preschool special ed summer school work in Flushing.
OK to sublet
Jun 11, 2012
OK I'm going ahead with the sublet. The film maker came by and gave me $2000 in cash, he will give me the rest before he moves in. I gave him the key and told him he could bring a suitcase by if he needs to. I will be starting to collect boxes and empty the dresser drawers. I can rent storage space in the basement. Also will make space in the closet for him to hang up shirts and pants. We exchanged copies of passports, my idea, so everyone feels more comfortable.
And then, lo and behold, in the trash chute room, showed up a very new looking comforter, pillows and sheets. I'll be able to use the comforter and sheets for staying at the ex's. I figure I'll go up there this week with the linens. I will use the sheets to make curtains for the windows, will bring measuring tape. I can go to National Wholesale Liquidator's right nearby and get spring curtain rods and clips to make the curtains. The management came a few years ago and replaced the ex's windows, he's been meaning to clean the blinds that they took down, but he never gets around to it. Anything I do to the window is an improvement compared to the usual putting a big sheet of cardboard in the window.
Will be heating up a Shepard's Pie that I got at the grocery store yesterday for a bargain $2.50. Made black beans and will make a salad also using cut corn, tomato and cucumber.
Dealing with crazy con artist Joyce in the ex's house will be a challenge. Trying to keep the money in mind, I generously offered to cook sometimes for us 3, seeing how Joyce can't cook or lift a finger (even though she has a phantom grown child). My cooking seems to calm everyone down.
Can't Sleep
Jun 10, 2012
Getting on this crazy can't sleep regular hours routine. No where to go tomorrow. Snacking on ice cream with chocolate coating late for me. Caffeine in chocolate keeps me up. To make it worse, I just got up, can't sleep, and ate at least 6 fake Oreo cookies. I have all these cookies in the house I bought to bribe my special ed kids. Thinking about how I am going to miss my own place this summer. I love my little apt. Going to stay with the ex and the crazy con artist girl friend who will be there whenever. I want to try to work this summer by commuting from his apt, but it's not an environment where people go to work in the morning. It's a place where users hang out all night in his living room watching his cable TV, Joyce is homeless and the Murray is TV-less and in debt to loan sharks. I can hear the TV from my room, if they don't agree to turn off the TV by 11, I don't see getting up early and schlepping to Flushing by 8 from the Bronx. Shit. But I do need to take this sublet money to pay my bills. The ex already agreed to not have Murray over when I am there because he smells bad and never takes a shower. Apparently he smells like a homeless person, I've never met him.
Well, perhaps if I have a job and I reason with the ex, they will turn the TV off. Did I mention they have keys to his apt and drop by whenever they want to?
Joyce now claims she works off the books for Sony Records as an attorney, with an office of half a floor. She's never there. She buys a pay per call cell phone, no, Sony Records does not provide her with a Blackberry! Imagine that!
So I am spending the summer in a looney bin.
