What I'm doing with my life
I'm a second year master's student in the marine science program at USC.
For the past year I've worked in an environmental health lab,
mostly dealing with the nitrogen cycle in salt marsh sediments. I
would eventually like to pursue my PhD somewhere that is not SC. I
also read too much, argue too much, drink just about the right
amount, and spend as much time as I can with my boyfriend, friends,
and beagles. I've
recently become a member of the ColumbiaQuadSquad, a roller derby league
here in Columbia. Mostly I'm just trying to have a good time.
I'm really good at
Making grilled cheese sandwiches, sleeping in, monopoly, winning
arguments.

I don't know what the first thing people notice about me is....but
the thing they always seem to remember is "you were in that
demolition
derby, right?"
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books....lots, my
favorite fiction author is probably Anne Rice but I read a lot of
non-fiction too, a special emphasis lately in various angry
feminist
rantings. Movies...American Beauty, Garden State, Monty Python
and the Holy Grail, The Princess Bride...etc. Music...all sorts of
Rock
Food...chocolate...and pretty much anything home-made.
