I am easily amused, somewhat intelligent, and full of surprises.

My Self-Summary

I did this once before, but I'll be the first to admit I wasn't all that open to meeting people, so here I am again. Let's see how it goes this time.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a teacher. There are certain things about me that scream, "Wow! She's a teacher!" and other things that make people go, "YOU'RE a teacher???" I do not own any sweaters with chalkboard appliques, wear Crocs, or lug around one of those teacher crates. I do, however, take my job pretty seriously. I'm damn good at it, too. No, really. I have awards and stuff.

I’m really good at

Calling people on their BS, knowing when to stop, making comments that you don't want to laugh at but do anyway, being empathetic, cooking (a newfound talent), swimming, reading a book in one sitting, random TV/movie trivia, sticking to my principles, enjoying any situation I'm in, judging a person's character, online shopping...

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm quiet. This generally puts people off. I understand. Advice: ask me questions and don't say things like, "YOU'RE SO QUIET" and "WHY ARE YOU SO SHY?" This annoys me to no end. Physically, I guess my eyes. They're brown but I hate the song "Brown Eyed Girl." Put that in your file for future use.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

BOOKS- Tim Dorsey, Carl Hiaasen, Dave Barry, J.D. Salinger, books about teaching, cookbooks. I'll read anything. I have three full bookcases in my room and several boxes full of books waiting for me to find them a home. I usually read about four books at a time.

MOVIES- Anything funny that does not involve blue collar comedy, Adam Sandler, or that King of Queens guy. I like independent movies, "cult" movies, and documentaries. Also, mob movies. And scary movies. ESPECIALLY Rob Zombie movies.

MUSIC- Mainly punk, alternative, old sad bastard music (500 points for getting that reference), songs with hand claps and sing alongs. I love Dave Grohl, Rivers Cuomo, and Elvis Costello. There is not enough room here for me to discuss my likes/dislikes.

FOOD- It has been my resolution to cook healthy yet flavorful food. I'm getting pretty good at it. I do love dessert, though.

The six things I could never do without

1. Eyeliner
2. Coke Zero
3. Pillows
4. Swimming pools
5. Books
6. The Office Season 2 on DVD

(Everyone puts their family and friends, right?)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

My next move. The real estate market. Why people like Coldplay. If I really needed my last online purchase. How long skinny jeans will be in fashion. Why I don't open up more. If people get my sense of humor.

On a typical Friday night I am

Either curled up on the couch with a book (exciting!) or pretending to have fun in some sort of club/bar full of d-bags.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I don't like most of my friends right now.

You should message me if

You enjoy being frustrated. If you liked Freaks and Geeks. If you read regularly. If you laugh at the gross parts in scary movies. If you're a little off the beaten path. If you're not insanely clingy yet also not emotionally detached. If you can drink me under the table. If you have something to offer besides more of the same.
