What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Languishing in a retail position and trying to make this whole art thing work out. I guess I'm a painter, but not like a "trying to work though my existential crises on canvas" painter. I'd go so far as to call myself an aspiring children's book illustrator.

Besides that... I hang out with my friends, watch movies, spend entire days art museums. I'm usually pretty laid back.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I guess this is the lame, stereotypical answer, but making people laugh. Or at least chuckle a little on a pretty frequent basis.

What else..? I'm good at being self deprecating. And doing basic math in my head. That isn't really brag worthy though, is it?
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
How quiet I am, I guess! I also have bright eyes and a pensive resting face; I've had quite a few people tell me I freaked them out a little when we first met. But I'm nice, I swear!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: I love F. Scott Fitzgerald, Saki, Angela Carter, Lisa See, Anchee Min, Tanith Lee, and George Orwell. I recently finished the 5th book of the A Song of Ice and Fire series, hence my username.

Movies: My movie taste is all over the place. I like dramas and thrillers like The Lookout, Mother, Red Eye, Brick, and Drive. But I also adore older comedies and musicals, like Flower Drum Song, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (aka the unofficial Mad Men prequel), West Side Story, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and The Harvey Girls. I went through a 50's sci-fi phase a little while ago, stuff like It Came from Beneath the Sea, Them!, The Thing from Another World, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, etc.

Shows: Mad Men, The IT Crowd, Community, Game of Thrones, Workaholics, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, and maybe a little Australia's Next Top Model on youtube. And while they're not TV shows, I listen to a lot of old radio dramas and mysteries while I paint.

Music: Royksopp, Dengue Fever, Lykke Li, Passion Pit, Fever Ray/The Knife, The Decemberists, Sons & Daughters, M.I.A., The National, Ellie Goulding, Florence & The Machine. Maybe some Connie Francis, Astrud Gilberto, and Elvis every once in a while. Then there are tons of songs that I love, but I wouldn't say I'm a fan of the artist, seeing as how I only have that one song of theirs.

As for food... I like almost all kinds of it, and I will try anything once. Part of the reason I live in Koreatown is to have access to good food at all times.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. good books
2. the Turner Classic Movies channel
3. gin (assuming it comes with tonic water and limes)
4. summertime food (think grilled meat, potato salad, and fresh fruit)
5. my best friend
6. my cat (I'm not a crazy cat lady; he's my little furry bro!)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm not gonna lie, I'm usually munching on some kimchee fried rice and watching a movie. Or painting. My life is just that exciting.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't really play video games, but I have an undying love for Pokemon; I'm hoping to get a 3DS before X and Y come out!

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You want to go see the Tuesday matinee movie at LACMA with someone, go listen to some live music at the park, grab a few gin and tonics, or obsess a little over how batshit bizarre North Korea is.
