I am silly, clever, and fantastic.

My Self-Summary

I am a librarian in Dubai who lives for her vacations. I like boys who can spell and form coherent sentences. Chances are if u write like this 2 me, I probably won't answer u.

Prior to living in this urban wasteland on the desert, I lived in Vancouver. Spent most of life there although I did spend the first 10 years of my life in Japan and Taiwan. I don't like it when people ask me where I am from. It's too complicated especially when you want to know where I am "originally" from.

An ideal afternoon for me is to hang out in used bookstores, have coffee, look at people, maybe have some sushi. I also enjoy lying on the beach half cut as an afternoon past time.

What I’m doing with my life

Living and working as a librarian in Dubai.

Getting used to this weird Sunday to Thursday work week.

Getting mad at people who cut in front of me in the taxi queue and use their children as an excuse when I yell at them.

Going on adventures in different parts of the world.

I’m really good at

Scrabble!

Spending money I don't really have, Talking to random strangers, Throwing good punches, Making a mean Caeser, Scooping ice cream, Finding stuff that you can't find, Putting things in neat little piles, Plotting escape plans, Over-analyzing, Making a fool of myself... Wow, look at all the things I am good at.

The first things people usually notice about me

Apparently, I talk and walk very quickly...

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books- Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, Valley of the Dolls by Jacqueline Susann, The Unbearable Lightness of Being and Laughable Loves by Milan Kundera, The Book of Illusions and Brooklyn Follies by Paul Auster, Geek Love by Katherine Dunn, Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, short stories by Ray Bradbury... that's all I can think of right now.

Movies- The Royal Tenenbaums (or any Wes Anderson films), The Nightmare Before Christmas (and most Burton films), Amelie, Empire Records, Juno, Stardust, The Original Star Wars Trilogy, Faris Bueller's Day Off, Gross Point Blank, Naussica (and all Miyazaki films), Once Upon a Time in China Trilogy, etc, etc.

Music- RADIOHEAD, Interpol, Of Montreal, The Cure, Metric, The Smiths, Velvet Underground, the Beta Band, the Beatles, the Broken Social Scene, Nirvana, Elliott Smith, Bloc Party, New Order, Pixies, the Kinks, David Bowie, Garbage, Pulp, Sonic Youth. This list can go on for quite a while...

Food- Chopped Scallop Rolls, Blueberries, Baba Ghouj, Dim Sum, Burgers, Ummm.... food...

The six things I could never do without

vacations, money, friends, family and my mac book with an internet connection... oh and black coffee.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

How badly I want to watch "Where the Wild Things Are" and "The Fantastic Mr. Fox". I probably will never catch them in theaters because I am stuck in this stupid sandpit.

On a typical Friday night I am

breathing.
