I am optimistic, caring, and fun.

My Self-Summary

I am sometimes too optimistic and positive for my own good. I'm a preschool teacher and I live in an awesome apartment in Clifton with my great friend likesbikes23. I love traveling and seeing new places. I haven't done a whole lot, but look forward to doing more. I enjoy learning about other cultures and experiencing things ways that other people do. I like to have a good time at bars with my friends or just hanging out watching movies. I have some of the greatest friends around who I love hanging out with, but I am always open to making new friends! It's great to meet new people and expand my understanding of humanity and of the world. Reading is great, I haven't been doing as much as I would like and am trying to get into it again. Anything else you want to know, just ask!

Note: I don't actually identify as bisexual. I identify as pansexual(if you don't know what that means, look it up, or ask me), but that isn't an option on here, so bisexual is the closest thing.

What I’m doing with my life

I currently teach preschool and want to eventually teach elementary school kids. I grew up in Cincinnati, went to college at Kent State University and moved back here. I've pondered moving somewhere warmer to teach, but who knows if that'll happen now...

I am planning on going to Grad school next year at UC for teaching English as a second language. I can't wait!

I’m really good at

I'm really good at talking to kids. And listening to people. And procrastinating. I wouldn't say REALLY good, but fairly good at sports. I did volleyball, swimming, and track in high school for four years and then played lacrosse for four years in college. I loved playing them all and miss being a on a team a lot.

I've been playing volleyball on a recreational team lately which has been great.

I'm starting to play on a post-collegiate lacrosse team which is exciting! Also I will be coaching a girls high school team in the Spring.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm pretty short...
My smile. I'm usually in a good mood and smiling or laughing a lot of the time.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Like I said it's been a while, but I have enjoyed The Kite Runner, Aztec, A Million Little Pieces, A Clockwork Orange, Coming of Age in Mississippi, Stone Butch Blues, The Color Purple, The God of Small Things, some Jodi Picoult books, some great books related to education especially The Skin that We Speak.

Movies:Napoleon Dynamite, The Laramie Project, Juno, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fight Club, Across the Universe, Pulp Fiction, The Hours, Mean Girls, Crash, Happy Feet, Remember the Titans, Sideways, Chocolat, Life as a House, Stepford Wives, Memento, Finding Neverland, Pan's Labyrinth, Little Miss Sunshine, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Boys Don't Cry, Kinsey, lots more....One of my favorite things to do is to get random movies from the library that I know nothing about and watch them...

Music: My music taste is quite eclectic. I love oldies like 50s and 60s, love 90s, I also enjoy Tegan and Sara, Regina Spektor, Corrinne Bailey Rae, Imogen Heap, Ingrid Michaelson, Incubus, OutKast, Ingrid Michaelson, Jack Johnson, James Taylor, John Legend, Alanis Morissette, Shakira, Dixie Chicks, OAR, RBD, Jonny Lang, more, more, more, more

Food: I'm a vegetarian, so no meat, but I love Indian and authentic Mexican, Italian, Thai, Sushi, Chinese, nearly anything that isn't meat....I'm usually pretty open to trying new things too

The six things I could never do without

1. Some incredibly important people (I have some amazing friends and family members)
2. The innocence and intellect of children
3. Chocolate or other sweets (peanut butter chip Graeters ice cream)
4. Delicious food, esp. Indian, Mexican, Sushi, Thai,
5. Internet/my computer
6. Music (lots of variety in my musical interests)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

How to be the happiest person I can be, while still contributing to the betterment of the world.
Here is a favorite of mine:
To laugh often and much,
to win the respect of intelligent people and affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child a garden patch or redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

On a typical Friday night I am

Often out with friends at a bar, watching a band. Sometimes checking out a movie or just staying playing games or watching movies with friends.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I get easily annoyed when people have terrible grammar and spelling, especially when there are so many ways available these days to check those things.
I'm also pretty bad at waiting...in line, in traffic...

You should message me if

You are an interesting and intelligent person who I would want to talk to and you want to know more about me!
And if you aren't a creepster.
