My self-summary
I value having fun over everything else. Now me personally, I have fun by playing games, laughing, telling stories. I'm not much of an outdoorsman, but I do enjoy the occasional hike and I prefer to get around on my bike more than anything else. I'm a city kid at heart and I always will be, so my idea of an adventure tends to be more along the lines of a road trip or trying out a new restaurant.

I gravitate toward people that can have passionate yet civil discussions, preferably about subject matter that isn't important. That's not to say that I don't have political opinions, but it's often more headache to think about and it's never worth getting worked up over.

Anytime I can make somebody laugh, I feel like I've made the world a slightly better place.
What I’m doing with my life
By profession I am a freelance writer, but that isn't always the most stable of incomes, so I also supplement that through some minor electronic repair. That still leaves a big chunk of downtime, which I try to spend doing creative things, but more often than not I just wind up going out with friends, watching Netflix or playing video games.

I am trying to teach myself how to draw after decades of being convinced I couldn't, and I very badly want to learn how to play the piano.
I’m really good at
Remembering useless facts, telling stories, snappy one-liners, sleeping in late.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have hair that is impossible to control. It's poofy and sticks up in weird spots and all of this is difficult to manage long-term without a ton of product and time, neither of which I am typically willing to apply.

I am often told that I have nice eyes as well, so I guess you take the bad with the good.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Crime and Punishment, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, American Gods, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency

Movies: Clerks, Mallrats, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Shawshank Redemption, Snatch

Shows: Louie, Party Down, Twin Peaks, Upright Citizens Brigade, Mr. Show, Better Off Ted, Parks and Recreation, Adventure Time, Arrested Development, Home Movies, Rocko's Modern Life, The State, also the new Ninja Turtles cartoon is awesome and I don't care who knows that I TiVo it.

Music: The Tragically Hip, Bob Mould, Husker Du, Pixies, They Might Be Giants, Minotaurs, Arctic Monkeys, City and Colour, Frank Turner, 311, Fiona Apple, The Jungle Giants, Land of Talk, Radiohead, Silversun Pickups, Sloan, The Watchmen, Young Rival, Hungry Kids of Hungary, and many, many more. I sometimes work on a music blog, so I'm always looking for good stuff to listen to.

Food: Allergic to seafood, but will try anything else once. Favorites are Japanese, Italian, soups and cheesecakes.
The six things I could never do without
Access to music both old and new, the internet, conversation, good food, sleep, and rain.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to do something great. I probably have delusions of grandeur, but I desperately want to use my powers for good, not evil. Though if I could have a zeppelin, I absolutely would.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing really nerdy things. Really, really nerdy things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've had surgery a couple times in the same area and had to sit on a big inflatable donut while at work for a few weeks. Heard a lot of jokes about that. I'm willing to admit 99% of all private things, however; I love telling a good story, and there's nothing like self-humiliation to get the crowd on your side.
I’m looking for

You should message me if
If you need a Scrabble nemesis. If you think having fun is the meaning of life. If you know a good place to eat, or if you need to know a good place to eat. If you have a pet duck. If you have an impassioned speech about your favorite Power Ranger, Ninja Turtle, Thundercat, Transformer, or cereal mascot.

Basically if you want to talk to somebody who isn't afraid of being silly and strange, but knows how to behave like a normal person, you should message me.
