What sums me up?
Compassion is sexy, yo.
The long version?
I like to see myself as a zen cowgirl with a twist
of absent-minded professor. My claim to Google fame derives from almost getting kicked off a plane for trying to board with wearing a miniature Colt '45 (aka, "the Peacemaker") pendant. Security officials told me it was a "replica" and not allowed on the plane. But what was I supposed to do? A dear friend had made it by hand, and it went with the cowboy boots I'd opted to travel in. Eventually the ordeal was turned into a news story which was fun
for a minute or two.
Biographically speaking, I'm from Calgary and made my way to Toronto via the Kootenays, Vancouver Island, Vancouver and London,ON. I'm a former treeplanter, was a reporter for a spell and am currently tackling a PhD dissertation. I like to maintain a good balance between brawn and brains. I also dig kids and doing kids' stuff. I probably won't have any though, so single dads are a-okay in my books (actually, its a plus). No casual hook ups for me thanks, that's just not my style. Also allergy sufferers be warned, I own cats and if it comes down to a choice between you and my furry barnacles, I'm going with the overgrown rats. They're comforting little devils, and it's not like I can eat you come the zombie apocalypse.
Otherwise, I like to believe that I've outgrown the cynicism I
thought was so hip in my 20's and 30's. I know for certain however, that I have found ways to enjoy the sweet simple things that matter (and the people! Because they matter so much more than things). I've found that having access to hot sun and a cool body of water simultaneously are really all I need to feel content, and bliss follows along quickly if I'm with people I like. I make a good friend and a relatively harmless and ineffectual enemy as spite and vengeance don't come naturally to me. I do not suffer fools easily, but goofballs I couldn't live without.
I really, really dig guys who are smart enough to know what they don't know, or, at the very least, that there's lots they don't know.
