My Notes edit

My self-summary

I'm a good friend. I'm always willing to listen even though I'm not very good at holding my tongue and opinions. I'm considerate, especially when it comes to the big picture though I am not as good with some of the smaller details. In fact, that is true of my personality on the whole; I'm not one for small details.

I hate breaking plans but am terrible about deciding what the plans should be. I can easily go with the flow; it's never hard for my friends to convince me that a particular adventure sounds fun.

I'm easy to make laugh.

I'm looking for someone to spend time with, learn from, and see how things develop from there.

What I'm doing with my life

I work for a nonprofit registering members, maintaining the membership database, and training volunteers to help with those tasks.

I'm a Girl Scout troop leader for 8 second graders.

I volunteer with the American Cancer Society as the Event Co-Chair for the Greater Nashua Relay For Life. I've been involved with the Relay for a number of years now but this will be my first year as an event Co-Chair. I'm pretty excited for it.

The rest of my time is typically filled with my family and friends. I love to eat out and try new restaurants and occasionally hit up the bars for some drinks. I love all kinds of artsy things (theatre and art museums in particular) but don't go out to see them nearly as often as I should.

I'm really good at

Forgiving, and finding the good in people

Laughing

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

I'm short. I stand just under 5 feet tall.

Although once people get to know me they tend to forget.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

When choosing a book to read I tend to lean towards contemporary fiction. I just recently read a few contemporary Asian literature books- I find Asian culture as seen through literature to be sort of fascinating. After reading a handful of Asian culture based fiction books I thought I'd change it up and just finished a book about business. Currently I'm reading a book about Auschwitz.

I like movies but I have to admit there a lot of movies on the "must see" list that I have never seen. Movies I could watch over and over: Empire Records, Sandlot, A League Of Their Own, Stand By Me, Clueless. Movies I saw within the last couple years that I wish I saw a long time ago: The Batman series, the Rocky series.

I have a soft spot in my heart for music from the 90's Grunge/Alternative era. In the past several years I've become a country music fan. And then there are songs and artists from a variety of genres that I really like.

Ahhhh food.... I must say this is a favorite subject of mine. I love spicy food- not necessarily when it's intolerable but when it tastes good and has a good burn to it. I'm a big fan of Indian (especially chicken vindaloo), Mexican (especially when it comes with a big margarita), and Thai has actually crept up there as well (Tom Yum soup all the way).

The six things I could never do without

My family and friends.
Things to learn.
Fun.
Lazy weekend days.
Buffalo chicken.
Ways to commnicate (phone, internet, letters).

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Where I want to be in the next few years- personally and professionally.
What I will have for my next meal (I told you food is a favorite subject of mine).

On a typical Friday night I am

Well it depends on the time of year. During the winter months I tend to stay in a lot more. This year I am going to make it a point to do more during the cold weather.
During the nice weather though, I definitly get out more- dinner and drinks at a restaurant/bar, grilling in my "backyard", concerts, and visiting friends/family.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I don't have an appendix.

You should message me if

I sound like someone you'd like to get to know.

You want company for a drink or coffee.

You have Boston and surrounding area restaurant suggestions or want to try a new restaurant/bar and are looking for someone to go with.
