Made you look and What I've Learned in my life so far by
Stefan
Sagmeister. Great designer who I admire and who's books I
love.
Hitchhiker's
Guide To The Galaxy, first book series I ever read through at
the age of 11. I am Marvin the Paranoid Android.
Bossypants:
It's Tina Fey for fucks sake.
I spend a lot of time watching movies, when I have free time I'll
watch a new movie, when I'm working I usually put on one I've seen
and just learn every line so I can recite movie scenes while out
with people.
I'm hoping one day I can renact the entire diner scene in
Pulp Fiction
120 Days of
Sodom: Ok most disgusting movie in history, and the only reason
I'd rewatch it was to hold a contest to see who will throw up first
and who can sit still and watch the entire film without
flinching.
The Seventh
Seal: "In our fear we make an idol and call it God"
V For
Vendetta: I love vigilantes. Story was amazing, and that Guy
Fawkes mask was amazing and I must have it to hang on my
wall.
Pulp Fiction:
If you do not like this movie or find it boring, go die in a fire.
The dialogue is what made this movie, the diner scene is a personal
favorite among movie scenes. The soundtrack was also worthy of
repeated play.
Dusty Springfield, Al Green,
Urge Overkill. How could you not spend a night just listening to
the soundtrack?
Jackie Brown,
Best Pam Grier film.
They
Call Her One Eye: Inspiration for the character Elle Driver in
Kill Bill. Hardcore sex scenes aside, the premise of a mute girl
who gets kidnapped and hooked on heroin who then gets her revenge,
is pretty fucking amazing. Death scenes were gruesome and slo-mo,
typical grindhouse film stuff.
Zombies: Anything
with zombies I love, expect Vanguard cause that shit was terrible.
Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Night of The Living Dead, 28
Days Later, Dance of the Dead, Zombie 2, argh I can't think of the
other ones I've seen.
Italian
Horror: Bitches don't know about my love for italian horror.
Love Suspiria, Opera, anything by Argento really. AND! City of the
Living dead. There was an Italian Vampire movie where a bus breaks
down and the people stay at a local town until it's fixed only to
discover a vampire rules over it. I can't remember the name, but if
you know it, let me know. I need to watch it again.
Volver and
Broken
Embraces I love Almodovar's work. Both of these films are also
Penelope Cruz' best work. Reminds so much of my family. And how I
need to speak Spanish more often.
Breakfast at Tiffany's:
I loved the story, sucker for movies involving prostitutes. Though
I feel like maybe I shouldn't mention my love for this film only
because I've yet to determine why I love it so. It's probably
Holly's view on how loving someone is placing them in a cage, which
is partly true. It was probably her cat. Just because she names it
Cat, like I do.
The Rocky Horror
Picture Show: Saw this when I was 6 or 7, Dr Franknfurter was
one of my childhood idols. Its because of this movie that I'm a
sucker for blonds and red heads.
Black Swan: You
know you wanted to be a ballerina after this.
Dexter: "Shut up,
Cunt." (Can I say that?) Oh John Lithgow, you were always creepy to
me, now I'm fucking afraid to see you in person.
30 Rock: A comedy
show where I actually get every reference in the jokes. If you
don't like 30 Rock or understand the jokes and references, die in a
fire.
Absolutely
Fabulous Normal kids watched wrestling and afternoon cartoons,
I watched reruns of AbFab. I was Patsy in high school.
Arrested
Development My goal is to become Lucille Bluth.
United
States Of Tara: Cause aren't we all a little fucking
disassociated?
The Thick Of
It: I AM
MALCOLM TUCKER.
Weeds: It made pot
life interesting. Though season 5 got a bit too Spanish
Novella-esque for my taste.
Dead Like Me:
Gives me hope that the after life might not be so bad. Sad it was
cancelled.
Music: Currently listening to:
Best Coast,
Beach House Ra Ra Riot Girl in a Coma,
Glass Candy,
White Lies,
Phoenix,
Lissie, Patti Smith,
Cat Power, Fleetwood Mac,
Animal
Collective, Bloc Party,
Sade,
Noisettes,
Bat For Lashes, Julian
Casablancas, Phoenix,
Florence + The
Machine, Peter Bjorn and John, Sade, Sufjan Stevens, and the
usual suspects I can't go a day without listening to: The Yeah Yeah
Yeahs,
Vampire
Weekend, Fiona Apple, Foals, The Strokes, Typical 60's Girl
groups, Dinah Washington, and
Santigold.
Music should be more than just a functioning larynx.
