**This profile is old and I have to be clear and say I am not
currently looking for any dates, relationships, or random sex. It
largely still exists so I can keep in contact with friends and take
random quizzes to stave off the looming boredom. Sorry! If you just

What? I'm the post-college, pre-career, socially backward,
black-wearing, great night auditor of the plains. I don't know why
I left my hills and rivers for the vast barren desert they call
Kansas, call it reckless impulse. I read a lot, drink a lot of
coffee, work third shift, double majored in English and Gender
Studies. I have cats. I live in a crummy apartment. When things
scare me (like giant moose heads or lobsters) I sing little songs
about them. When most people talk to me I have a constant running
chorus of shutupshutupshutup in my head. I'm an aspiring folk
violist. I have more musical instruments in this house than can
account for number of people. I'm not talented with any of them,
but music makes me excited. People worry about my taste in music.
It's early in the morning and past my bedtime. This whole thing is
sounding suspiciously chipper.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
Trying to live, trying to make enough money to live, trying to find
a real job working with words, playing music with friends, building
a network of people I love, searching out a path, remembering
what's important to me, finding a soul, looking at the sky, playing
in the woods (what woods there are here), going to small, dirty
diners, making things matter, singing songs, growing a heart,
learning everything I can
I'm really good at Propose an edit
beginnings, being mellow, making people make confused faces, being
generally resourceful, cooking, sociological experimentation,
looking like a suprised bunny, standing on one foot
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
how long my hair is, that I'm not wearing pants, that I'm halfway
through a pounce with hair flying and an unwholesome grin, oh, and
that I'm really really really quiet around people I don't know very
well. Yeah, mostly the quiet.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
mmmm, Kill Bill or 28 Days Later probably. I haven't seen a lot of
movies this year. Who wants to take me to see the new Dawn of the
Dead?
Except they changed the question on me. I like Chuck Palaniuk,
Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Sherman Alexie, Katherine Dunn,
Charles Simic, etc. I like movies. I like bloody horror films and
tangled existential films. Think Dead Alive through Wings of
Desire. Erm, music. I have a lot of that. Nick Cave, Einsturzende
Neubauten, Shudder to Think, european folk music, fiddle tunes,
smoky gospel, Finntroll, beepy thumpy stuff, ummm... ok, I like too
much to list. I hate this list already and I'm not even to food
yet. Um. I like Indian food, especially if it has paneer, and I
like horchata and papas rellenas, and casserole, and yogurt, and
tapioca pudding. Is that enough for you people?
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
adventures, wonder, outside, space, coffee, laughter
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
Prague, taming dinosaurs, helmets, clouds, riding giant shopping
carts over the plains, the first snow of the year, thunderstorms,
fireplaces, good bookshelves, holy oil, disturbing juxtapositions,
whatever.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
At the coffeehouse, slamming house brews and doing smart people
things. Then I go to work, I almost always work on fridays. Except
for now. Now I don't work on Friday nights.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I just washed my face. Ok, ok, I'm also less emotionally giving
than most people would imagine. It's hard to crack me open. I'm
also a fairly private person. That's all you get.
You should message me if Propose an edit
you feel like it, especially if you've never shouted "wooo" in
public or said "wassuuuup?"
