I am quirky, shy, and intelligent.

My Self-Summary

I'm happily married, and we're poly. I test as INFP on the Keirsey temperament sorter, which means I'm an emotional "dreamer" type of person.

I'm about 5'7" and 240 lbs. I'm curvy.

Please don't message me if:
you smoke cigarettes
you live more than, say, 40 miles away
you aren't poly or don't know what poly is
you just want sex or to cheat on your wife/girlfriend or a one-night-stand

What I’m doing with my life

As a stay-at-home mom to 3, I spend a lot of time doing things for other (smaller, younger) people.

I like to read (mostly fiction), and to learn. I love finding the connections between things and places and people. I like experiencing art, and being outside among nature and trees.

I’m really good at

being patient. My children wouldn't survive their childhoods if I didn't cultivate this practice. I don't feel patient, but as long as I am able to act patient, it works.

I'm good at being idealistic and cynical at the same time. Living in my imagination instead of the logical "real" world. Seeing the best in people and situations.

I'm also not bad at baking, as in cakes, cookies, pies, whatever. So far this week I've made a key lime pie, a lime meringue pie, and a peach/plum/blueberry crisp. Next I'm going to make macaroni & cheese (homemade is so much yummier than a box), a black forest cake and an angel food cake for friends' birthdays, and possibly a chocolate cream pie for my husband.

Don't let her kid you. She is one of the best bakers I have ever known.

The first things people usually notice about me

my big brown eyes.
Although I've realized recently that they're a bit lighter than brown - maybe amber.

Also, if I have it down, my long dark wavy hair. Ok scratch that, I got it cut, so while it's still dark & kind of curly, it's not all that long now. About shoulder length.

I'm pretty shy and introverted, maybe they notice I don't talk?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: I like to read just about anything good, or even anything interesting even if it's not good. Right now I'm reading "The Constant Princess" by Philippa Gregory, historical fiction about Katherine of Aragon.

Movies: Thought-provoking is good, as is horror, but not slasher films. Also films in the Merchant-Ivory vein. I just watched Twilight, I wasn't impressed with the movie but the vampire's house is gorgeous.

Music: Dead Can Dance, Lily Allen, Garbage, NIN. I like to let my Pandora mix it up a bit. Right now it's suggesting Santana. I'm good with that. I like Afro-Cuban rhythms & conga, or tabla.

Food: Yum! Thai is my favorite. Tom Kha, Pad Thai, panang curry. I'd rather have 1 bite of something really excellent, than a whole meal of McD's crap. Other likes: coffee, chocolate, cherries, fruit in general. Sensual food. Fondue, mangoes, roasting marshmallows, caramel.
Dislikes: beef, fast food, mayonnaise. Oh yeah, cilantro.

The six things I could never do without

coffee
my kids
trees
art

I spend a lot of time thinking about

what I'm reading, what I'm going to read next, where I want to go and what I want to do there. Hmm, now that I look at that, it's almost like I said the same thing twice.

On a typical Friday night I am

on the couch next to my husband, or next to him at my computer (his is right next to mine)

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm eating sardines *right now*.

Mmm... sardines. Don't you wish you had sardines?
