My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Let's think of these as icebreakers:
1. What are you reading? What do you like about it? What book(s) have you read that you’d want to read again? Why?
2. What is your favorite adjective?
3. What is your favorite piece of common sense?

Ok, summary stuff:
I grew up in Minneapolis. I moved back here after stints in NYC, Prague, Madrid, and various points in between. This is my home, but I do love to travel.

I am particularly fond of live music, candles that don't smell like food, movies, being awed, adult beverages on outdoor patios, food, lakes, fire pits and camp fires, tents and canoes, museums, "up north," festivals, art fairs, puzzles and games, horses, gardens, sunglasses, scarves, blankets, classes, people watching, bikes, hikes, books.

I'm funny, open-minded, intelligent, thoughtful, hard-working, confident, loyal, and independent. I can be outspoken, opinionated, and a tad feisty, but in a MN nice kind of way. And I’m modest, I swear. Bragging is hard…
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Cultivating chaos and creating calm. Looking out of mirrors and into windows or is it the other way around?

Turning corners into angles of change and transformation and using words to wash away confusion.

Teaching myself and young people about words and stories. Keeps my mind agile, my heart young, and my soul wise.

Raising a cat.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Teaching, making quick decisions, trying new things, making people laugh, using recipes to prepare and assemble food products, telling stories, staying up late for no reason, speaking in hyperbole (like, a million times a day!), decorating with books, editing other people's written works, making people feel comfortable, finding sunglasses that fit my face pretty well, organizing, and driving.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
is that the whole universe is quivering inside a teardrop perched on my eyelash about to come crashing down my cheek.

And then they notice the prison tats...kidding ;-)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I love so many books. A Yellow Raft in Blue Water and The Grapes of Wrath are why I am an English teacher.

Movies: I prefer them to be smart, interesting, and well-done. But I'm not gonna lie: there are some dumbass, pointless, crap movies out there that I count among my faves. Well, that's not totally true. The dumbass and pointless movies I like are generally well-done, too.

Shows: The Daily Show, Breaking Bad, The Wire, Mad Men, Modern Family, Downton Abbey, House of Cards, Arrested Development, Dexter, Orange is the New Black, etc.

Music: I HATE reggae. I love anything by Bon Iver, Sigur Ros, Broken Social Scene, and John Legend. Recently been listening to Myth, Shooting John, First Aid Kit, Dawes, James Blake, Alabama Shakes, Frank Ocean, Maklemore, Mumford, The National, etc. I am a sucker for 90's music. I had a thing for Dave Matthews in high school/college and can still enjoy his early stuff. I also still listen to The Cranberries and I am very loyal to local music.

Food: I'm not too picky, but no olives.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Family/Friends
2. Button
3. Books
4. Laughter
5. Passport
6. Comfy mattress
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The poetry of the majesty of the gift of this grand ole thing called life which may just be the last little glimmer of a glorious dream dying behind eyelids fluttering open to a sunrise coming alive behind gauzy curtains that are blowing in a breeze and grazing your toes that are sticking out from under the covers of a bed you've been tucked into for centuries.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Twirling in the moonlight as rain patters at my tiptoes and glistens on my cheeks.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I can't say here. But it's guaranteed to make you giggle ;-)
