My Notes edit

My self-summary

This whole thing feels like i'm filling out a resume', but here it goes:

I would say that i have a lot in common with Jello. Everybody seems to like me, I can stand up on my own, i adapt and thrive in unique environments, and while i do have a light and pleasant outside, i have a deep and fulfilling inside (like a piece of fruit or something. No vegetables though, thats just disgusting.) However, unlike Jello, i am not food. So enough with this analogy and on with the the tooting of ones own horn!

As far as personality, i would say that I'm a funny guy (I know, people who describe themselves as "funny" aren't even close to being funny, but I laugh at my own jokes so i say that counts). I would also say that I'm an intelligent guy. No super genius mind you, but I would catch what dihydrogen monoxide means and laugh at the people who are afraid of it (in a friendly way, of course).

The main part of my personalty, and the part I'm most proud of, is I'm a very laid back person. People tend to stress themselves over so many little things. It amazes me. I don't sweat the small stuff and sweat a reasonable amount on the big stuff; a happy medium.

I'm open to all sorts of things and am usually willing to do anything once.

So yeah, go me.

What I'm doing with my life

What am i doing with my life? I'm not entirely sure WHAT I'm doing, but i seem to be doing something. I'm still going to school for a B.A English. I still go to the movies with my friends; Mostly bad movies, but sometimes i have a better making fun of movies then actually watching them (don't worry, we're quite about it. I'm no jerk).

I'm also slogging my way through this book i'm writing, but real life keeps on distracting me. It's not the great American novel, but it's something. I guess i'll find out what it is when i'm done with it.

To sum things up, here is a recipe for one me:

1 Part Eating
2 Part Sleeping
2 Part Running, Jumping, Climbing Trees
1 Part Stuff
2 Part movies, books, games

Shake together and serve in a big pile of awkward

I'm really good at

I'm not really good at conventional things like soccer, basketball, or poker. What I am really good at is the small or weird things. For example:

~I can name any Simpson's episode just by hearing one quote from that episode. (before season 9 when they were still funny)

~I have rocking hitchhikers thumbs

~I can fall asleep in any location (bus, class, restaurant, on a rope bridge dangling above a active volcano)

~I am a mean cook, and usually can reproduce most restaurant food/ make my own food. My next food experiment is home-made mead (i want to feel like a viking)

I'm sure there are other skills I'm forgetting, but the point is that i have what i call "game show skills". If i were on a game show, i would kick everyones asses and be sporting a poorly built catamaran. But when it comes to real skills, like playing an instrument, I fall flat (sorry about the pun).

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

People usually don't know what to make of me when they first meet me. I usually don't start out with the normal "Hi, nice to meet you" greeting but instead go with the right out of left field greeting.

As a result, I tend to make people laugh, so i guess it all works out. It also keeps me on my toes.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I'll just make a list:

Music: To be the most vague possible, I'll just say i love good music and hate bad music. Beck, Cake, The Beatles, CCR, Beastie Boys, Jonathan Coulton, Killers, Tchaikovsky, all good. I tend to be open to all kinds of music, both new and old. There is one ol' favorite that shows up every so often...Jazz. Not sure why.

I have to be in the right mood for it, but i love it when i love it.

TV shows

Lost, Nip/Tuck, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, Trying to catch up on Heroes, Flight of the Conchords, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, MST3K, Chappelle's Show, Dexter, Firefly, Simpson's (seasons 4-9)

Movies:

Big Trouble in Little China, Cool Hand Luke, Starship Troopers, Seven Samurai, Citizen Cane, Psycho, Dr.Strangelove, Hustle and Flow, Children of Men, Escape from New York/L.A, Orgasmo, An American Werewolf in London, the list is endless so if you want to know the list of movies i really like then ill just take a picture of my collection. It's big.

Books:

I tend to like a broad selection of everything and rarely narrow my favorites down. But for books i have my all time favorite. Douglas Adams, The Hitchhikers Guild to the Galaxy. The man is my all time hero.

Food:

I've grown to really like sushi. I think most people would like sushi too if they would get over the "ewwww raw fish" part. I'm willing to try any food once (i draw the line on anything that has an exoskeleton, however).

I have to say that i have a soft spot for good ol' fashion hippy food. The lotus garden is one of my favorite places to eat.

The six things I could never do without

1. The Internet

2. Ipod (so I'm shallow, kill me)

3. Beef Jerky

4. Glasses or Contacts (i wear the glasses when i want to pretend that I'm smart)

5. Pants (you dont miss 'em till they're gone)

6. Camera, cause you never know when you need a picture of a crazy hobo fighting a ghost.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Why people act the way they do. Not to sound stalker-esque but I'm a big people watcher.

I also think about the main things: Life, the universe, everything

The best way to describe what i think about is a bouncy ball. My mind just goes everywhere (depending on how hard i throw it). Thats not to say i cant focus when i need to, but leave me with nothing to do and im off. Like Johnny Five, I need more input.

On a typical Friday night I am

I have no idea most of the time. My friends and I come up with something that sounds like a good idea and we do it. That could be anything from playing videogames till our asses meld to the seat, or pretending that we are social and go out to parties (only to leave an hour later when we figure out that we don't like most parties. I'm more of casual, hang-out kind of party goer, not a tear up some poor guys apartment party goer)

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I've lit my leg on fire on more then one occasion.

You should message me if you want to talk to me (crazy, i know!). Double points if you can do so in the form of a haiku.
