I am smart, compassionate, and thoughtful.

My Self-Summary

I like math, music, reading/literature/linguistics, science, how things work, animals, especially primates. I'm easy-going about most things. I'm close with my family, though none of them (at least immediate fam) live in the area. I'm earnest and a bit sensitive, but can be outgoing depending on my mood. I'm interested in tons of different things from dinosaurs, to Japanese-American lit, to flash mobs and counter-culture, animation, post-modernism, the brain and more things I can't think of.

What I’m doing with my life

I currently work in a neurobiology lab and eventually want to get a PhD in animal behavior or more recently have considered pursuing a career in counseling.

I’m really good at

not judging people, being a supportive friend, seeing things from someone else's perspective, taking on new challenges, giving thoughtful gifts, looking at the positive side of situations, analyzing things, drawing connections between seemingly unconnected things . . .

The first things people usually notice about me

My smile probably . . .

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I read a lot, although not as much as I did in college. Some of my favorites are To the Lighthouse (VW in general), Kitchen, Amrita, Lizard (all by Banana Yoshimoto), Vonnegut, Crime and Punishment, The Wasteland, The Year of Magical Thinking (Joan Didion also in general), Douglas Adams, anything by David Sedaris, Sylvia Plath, JD Salinger, the Alice books, Nabokov, Dickens, Ezra Pound and others . . .

The six things I could never do without

family, laughter, art, sunshine, love, new experiences/adventures . . .

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm trying online dating . . .

You should message me if

You want to, I'm friendly! = )
