I'd describe myself as loyal, hard-working, honest, and light
hearted. Although I'm generally a realist about things, I do
believe in the basic goodness of people. In the secret places of my
heart, I'm probably a romantic! I believe that most people are the
sum of their respective experiences, and am mature enough to
understand and respect points of view that differ from my own. I
think people should follow their passions and be the best at
whatever they choose to do. Life is too short, really, for any
other approach to be worthwhile.
What I’m doing with my life
Following my passion, naturally. Didn't you read the blurb, above?
I work in government, and although there can be some incredibly
frustrating days, I love going to work every day believing that I'm
contributing to something bigger than myself. I love politics and
am kind of a public policy wonk. When I'm not at work, I'm pursuing
my goal to learn everything about all areas of human endeavor.
I’m really good at
I'm terrible at bragging about myself...I'm good at answering a lot
of general knowledge stuff (seriously, you want me on your team for
game night!), football, Kareoke, and figuring out tough problems.
I'm a solid organizer, planner, and leader and tend to be pretty
good at remembering details. Some people enjoy my cooking, as well!
The first things people usually notice about me
Hmmm, probably my wit. Whether it's because I'm being a smarta$$,
or pulling out some obscure piece of random knowledge, I'd say it's
probably my wit.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
That's a lot of categories, so we'll go top five-
Books: too hard; I love reading and not willing to devote the time
it would take to make a top five of all time list
Movies (not in order): Saving Private Ryan, Inception, The
Hangover, Cloud Atlas and Christmas Vacation
Shows: West Wing; The Tudors; The Office (US version); Arrested
Development; House of Cards
Music: All kinds-seriously...I know a LOT of people of say this,
but I actually mean it-totally depends on my mood
The six things I could never do without
iPhone; Metro SmartPass; Sweet Tea; good book; friends/family;
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Whether I believe in coincidence or fate...
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with friends, probably...hanging out in a dive bar with some
buddies; seeing a movie; etc. I would assume this is pretty
standard fare, for most.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've never been to Hawaii...I really should go this year.
You should message me if
It's a brave new world! If you're interested in getting to know me
beyond this snapshot, then just let me know!
