My Notes edit

My self-summary

Oct 2008- So I'm back from that whole getting married, honeymoon thing and starting to get things under control.
I am, however, still feeling a little overwhelmed by all the messages I should be responding to, even ones I initiated, but I'm working on it.

Aug/Sept 2008- I'm getting married in the end of Sept, and it's made me quite insane (also busier than ever). If I don't respond to messages, it's probably because I'm off ripping my hair out. If I haven't responded by 2009, then you can write me rude emails telling me off for not responding.
Thanks!

(Edit 7/07: If you're not going to read all of my profile, save us both the time and don't message me. Seriously, I'm likely to be horribly rude in response.)

I've decided to include a brief list of things I find attractive in another person.

I like people old enough to drink and young enough that they couldn't have been my parents. Younger than that...you may be hot, but you make me feel like a perv.

I really like boys with long hair(girls are exempt from hair rules). I can count the number of men with short hair I've found attractive on one hand. This is rather important, and a possible key component to why I don't message people back. My taste in people is slightly off norm, so the stud that gets all the hot chicks is likely to not get a second glance from me. I'm very attracted to most people who fall outside of the binary gender norms, usually if I've been stalking you, some photo caught my eye.

I like people who have something to say other than that I'm pretty. Especially something that indicates they might have read my profile and we might have something in common.

I'm fairly busy, so unless you're going to come see me, more than 30 minutes away is prohibitive.

That's it for now, maybe I'll remember to add more of these as they come to me.

What I'm doing with my life

I work for UCSC and I love it. I mean, who wouldn't want to spend part of every day in a redwood forest and have lunch under the trees? (and if you wouldn't, probably don't message me, I'm not your type ofgirl)

I'm engaged, and he's my best friend and after years of living in sin and making his mom crazy, we're getting married this September.

(Old profile from when I was tech'ing full time, but contains relevant information)I'm a computer tech, and I spend a lot of time trying to deal with men who are threatened by a girl knowing more about computers than they do.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

I have a very loud personality, but if someone gets to know me at all they realize that it's a cover for a very shy and somewhat anxious core. I'm also pretty tall (5'10) and have a typically distorted view of my body. I'm fairly shy when first meeting people, but I'm slowly overcoming that thanks to meeting people from OKC.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I'll read practically anything, I consume books voraciously. I really enjoyed Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Love in the time of Cholera, Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel's series and also read pirate stories, horror and vampire pulp, and feminist missives.

I get a kick out of cheesy horror movies, and am proud of having seen some of the worse movies ever made. I'd love to compare lists with other aficionados of bad films. My favorite movie ever is the Nightmare before Christmas.

I love old tv cartoons like The Tick, Earthworm Jim and Darkwing Duck, horror movies, bad romances, and pretty much anything. It is a rare movie that is bad enough that I don't enjoy it at all but good enough not be amusingly bad. If the company's right, anything's worth seeing.

Music's a tough one. I love Dresden Dolls, Thea Gilmore, and several other girl and piano combinations, but I'm not a music snob. I like rock, alternative, classical, some metal and some other. I've never really liked rap, but I've been forced to listen to it, and there's not much out there that would make me run screaming. I'm fairly low key about my music tastes. I'd go to any sort of club, so that's really all that matters. If you're open minded, it's not an issue.

Ahh food. My favorite food is Sushi. I love to cook, I love fish, I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but I've had veg friends and I have some great vegan recipies. Again, open minded is key. I'll make whatever you'll eat if you come to hang out with me, or be flexible about where we go out to eat, if you don't try to cram your choices down my throat.

The six things I could never do without

Uh, my pets definitely. Usually this scares people off, but we don't have to talk about them if you'd rather not. I'm used to people being less thrilled about small fuzzy caged things than I am. Computers are probably on that list. I feel so lost if I can't check any fact or whatever at whim. Netflix? We don't have cable, so everything we watch is movies. Netflix has saved me tons on late fees and time wandering the video store. Carmex(world's greatest chapstick). My fiance. I know that's cheesy, but he's great. Speaking of cheese, I definitely wouldn't want to continue in a world without cheese...

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Why everyone has cats. Seriously, if you have cats it'll probably never work. I stop reading profiles at the 'Owns Cats' bit. Cute pictures of you and your cats in your photos? BZZZZT! It's not that I hate them, I just can't ever go to your house and you can't ever come to mine. I like breathing.

On a typical Friday night I am

I spend most every weekend with the various people I'm fond of. My time is stretched very thin, but each and every one of them is worth it. Who needs sleep when you have a family of wonderful loving supportive partners to spend time with.

Also, I go to a yoga class every friday, relieves the weeks stress.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I'm newish to being polyamorous, and interested in casual interaction with other people who are willing to accept my choices and limitations. Perhaps not entirely correct, but trichophilia comes to mind occasionally. I'm also a bit of a snugglewhore...

You should message me if

You can accept that for me, being poly doesn't mean I'll sleep with you, because I won't, probably not even if I like you. Yes I'll explain what this means if you insist on asking, however if you think being poly is all about sex, you'll never need to know the difference anyway.

You don't have cats. I'm horribly allergic and non cat friendly.

You can accept that I'm fairly busy, and only write back to people who interest me. Interests include using complete sentences, being less than 100 miles from me, being less than 10 years from me, and having a profile that piques my interest in some other way. I may ignore one or more of these things, but after much failure, I've come to realize that all the people I've been successful with are those I've contacted first, so don't take it too personally if I ignore a message.

You can also accept that even if I'm interested, I'm sometimes lazy about writing to people, and if you write to me a second time bitching about how I didn't write back in the last 48 hours, I'll laugh at you.
