My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am 34, a graduate of the College of William and Mary with a BA in Religion and History, a graduate of University of Richmond Law, living in debt but buoyed by my adorable first born daughter. I am an otaku, a self-professed and proud nerd, possessed of intense curiosity. I have a muse that is occasionally a sadist. I am a friend to a number of scattered souls, an ally to many, a highly regrettable ex-friend to a few, a lover of conversation, a highly trained ear for those who seek to use it, a shoulder when it's needed, neurotic, way too into cute furry little things, slightly obsessive, procrastinator in extremis, human in progress, tactile and oral sensualist (mind out of the gutter, no cookie for you), god in potentia, open-minded to the point of dissolution. Occasional boyfriend, new husband, constant online presence, multitasker lacking tasks, anxiety-ridden and easily embarrassed. Insomnia striken, sleep deprived (voluntarily alas), oft narcoleptic. Ex-fencer, member of facebook and deviantart now that I have a way to scan large abstract drawings that have no actual meaning. Right brain and left brain are usually fighting, so I'm clearly divided between "creative/silly" and "logic/ordered."

Oh, and I'm a lawyer now, too.

I am imaginative, w/ hidden talents, and highly neurotic.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Finding, drawing, learning, waiting, talking, watching, arguing, reading, writing, studying, walking, carving, shaping, shyly standing on the periphery watching other people talk and interact. I'm really good at that last one.

As of two years ago, I am also beating, biting, paddling, whipping, flogging, drawing on people in gel and henna, and having a great deal of fun. And doing a bit less of that 'shyly standing on the periphery.'
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Drawing pictures of no actual shape or meaning, yet somehow take me months to accomplish ( ). Finding ways to quickly run through a weekend without actually accomplishing anything other than spending time together.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
"Oh, who's that quiet guy you're standing next to?"
"Josh? You've met him before."

Books... hmm... Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Spider Robinson, F. Paul Wilson, Joe Haldeman all come to mind immediately, with Warren Ellis, Alan Moore, and Garth Ennis waiting in the wings to kick my ass if I don't remember them. Have found a new love in Christopher Moore. Stephen King's an old favorite for his short stories. Brian Michael Bendis and Frank Miller also grace my bookshelves. Lately getting into the apocalyptic fic with Brian Keene and Charles Stross.

Movies... Way too fascinated by the horror genre and willing to give a movie a chance, despite everything going against it. And I have been let down so many many times. Best drama... City of God. Best romcom... Love Actually (sorry, into the cute). Best Chinese Cooking movie with Wire Fighting... God of Cookery. Best wtf... Donnie Darko. Best Anime... Nausicaa. Best Guy Flick... Boondock Saints.

Music... Depeche Mode, Queen, OK Go, Dave Matthews Band (and oh, how the hipsters do howl), Joseph Arthur, Death Cab, Postal Service, U2, Various 80's, Daughter Darling, Sigur Ros, Massive Attack, Daft Punk, Johnny Cash, Moby, Phish, Rusted Root, Lamb, Ben Folds Five, Radiohead, Tori Amos, Tears for Fears...

Foods... Chinese first and foremost, but Japanese a close second. Mexican overtaking and have begun cooking Indian at home. Mmmm, buuuuutter chicken...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The computer, my drawing pad, my mechanical pencils, the three (wedding, balance and engagement) rings, one of my friends to randomly call, and glasses (blind as the proverbial bat).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The next document I need to file with the court.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At a local fetish club playing with a St. Andrews Cross or holed up with friends watching movies.

Or, lets be honest, playing Skyrim.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I can split my tongue in half.

That bit above about the St. Andrews Cross.

What's worrisome is the amount of private things I'm willing to share at the drop of a hat.

You too are a nerd, a geek, a strange soul and proud of it. Looking for friends with who I and my superior other can geek out. Looking for friends into games- board games, card games. Looking for friends who find that they're not quite so much bent as they are... kinked.
