I really hate this part....

I just moved to DC, having spent the last year in LA and the previous 10 in Atlanta, although I'm originally from NJ. So far, so good—but I’m still trying to learn my way around this city.

I have a job, an education, and have never been in prison. I'm pretty openminded and will try most things once--life is too short not to enjoy it.

Anyone want to help show me around?

I work for a management consulting firm. Yes, it's as nebulous as it sounds.

I got skillz! I always wanted to say that...

I don't know. You'd have to ask them. People always say 'eyes' or 'smile'. That's what I always say. It's never the truth, but it's what we all say anyway...

They expect me to cover books, movies, shows, music, and food in this section? That seems like a big 'ask'. Let's just say my tastes are consistent with my 'openminded' approach to life in general. Some would call it eclectic. What does that mean? Well, it means I read everything from Dickens to Frost to Sports Illustrated, listen to everything from classical to jazz to rock (with a special "jersey" place in my heart for Springsteen), love sushi, but can also be very happy with a turkey sandwich. I love sports, but also the theater. Get the picture?

Only 6? Can I pretend this is in addition to the essentials like "oxygen"? And the sappy stuff like "family"?

Funny, most of this list includes things that at one point in my life I had no problem living without. I've apparently become high maintenance in my old age...

Caffeine (preferrably coffee, but truth be told it's the caffeine I really need)
Being 'connected' (i.e., laptop/iPad/iPhone--pathetic, I know)
A good shower with plush towels
DVR
Passport
#6 is open for something yet to be discovered...

I try not to think--it only hurts the ballclub (bonus points for knowing where I paraphrased that from)!

blah, blah, blah....there's no typical Friday night....blah, blah, blah. Truth is, most of the time it's either dinner with friends or home watching tv and falling asleep on the couch. I wish it were more exciting than that, but it's not...

I'll admit anything....but you have to ask....I won't just give it away...
