I am blunt, passionate, and independent.

My Self-Summary

Hey! I'm a graduate student at UNF studying Public Administration. Professionally, I'm an operations manager for a local mechanical contractor. On the side, I run a one-man computer business for a little extra cash. Juggling school, work, and the better parts of life can be a little tough, but I make do. School and work seem to be what people ask about first so I figure I should knock them out.

Motorcycles are a passion of mine. I currently ride a Kawasaki KLR 650 and a Yamaha FJ1200. The KLR is a dual sport or adventure type motorcycle. There aren't much places it can't go (i.e. snow, off-road, highways, even crossing water). The FJ is a sport touring bike which is great for very long distances. When time permits, one of my favorite things to do is take a weekend trip riding and sight seeing normally camping along the way.

I purchased a distressed home last year and have nearly completely remodeled it. Self sufficiency is a goal of mine and I prefer to do something myself instead of hire it out whenever possible. I do all my home improvement work, mechanical work, cooking, and even brew my own beer. I feel that these life skills are immensely valuable and I enjoy learning them. The house is actually nearly turned into a hobby and I really enjoy the little projects around here.

Traveling is an important part of my life though I have not been oversees yet. Just 30 states or so, a few islands, and Mexico. It is a dream to one day do some international travel, preferably on the bike.

Pop culture generally annoys me. I'm also very anti-materialistic. To this extent, I don't own things simply because people think I should. Of those is a car. This is generally a put off to people but I always have transportation. If you aren't familiar with bikes or are a fair weather rider, rain suits work just fine and an extra layer will keep you warm any day. The upside is that I have more money available to travel, have an easy time parking, and always arrive with a smile on my face.

I enjoy good beer. I have judged in competitions, brew my own, and will always to a good beer over liquor. That said, I don't get drunk all that often and generally have just a few. Good bars with decent clientele and beer selection are awesome, but I tend to avoid night clubs. I can't dance a lick but am open to learning.

Fitness reemerged as a priority in my life early this year. In High School I played football, wrestled, and was a competitive power lifter. Through College I kind of sluffed off. I absolutely have to have 30 minutes to an hour of physical activity per day at a minimum. I like swimming, kayaking, hiking, bicycling, and just about anything else outside. Social eating is a huge put off for me. I believe restaurants and bars should be a treat, not a 5 night/week occurrence. Not only is it bad for me, it also limits finances and time to do things I enjoy more.

Well like the site asked, this is about me. I have had a more concise profile on here before but figured I'd just throw it all out there. If I seem like someone that you might like to get to know I hope you'll write back or give me a shout.

I’m really good at

Fixing things
Riding motorcycles
Brewing beer

The first things people usually notice about me

That I'm a bit loud... my voice carries, or so I was told in school. Just being honest.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Ahhh... they had to ask.

I was fortunate enough to pursue an education in a discipline I like. Therefore, almost all of what I read is Political Science, Political, and Public Administration works. My favorite fiction genre is probably distopia novels with a political theme. George Orwell and Ayn Rand are two of my favorite authors.

My music knowledge is pathetic. I enjoy listening to just about anything. I don't care much for rap or rock where the lead singer bitches about life or screams into the mic. Other than that, I'm wide open.

Food that I eat and food that I like are often two different things. I like Mexican and Sushi very much but usually have a meat and veggies diet at home because of the prep time involved.

The six things I could never do without

Family
Friends
Motorcycles
Beer
The Outdoors
Traveling

I spend a lot of time thinking about

That I'd rather be riding.

On a typical Friday night I am

Staying in! It is the most expensive night to go out and places are crowded. I will either have company over at the house or be traveling.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I don't mind my single life. However, I would really like to find true love. That said, I probably won't fall fast for anyone and before I settle, I will be single.

You should message me if

* Your not put off by my brutally honest profile. I'm just not that interested in forcing something. Either there is interest or there isn't.
* Interested in meeting in person within a week or so. The online thing doesn't quite come too naturally so if you don't think you would meet someone from this site within a week someplace public, I'm not interested in the games.
* You are financially responsible, employed or a student, and have some passion in your life.
* You are willing to camp in a tent!
