I am swimming, biking, and running.
My Self-Summary
I'm a geeky adventurer. I've been able to
travel around the world and have gained a
real appreciation for the wonderful things and people in my life. I
don't mind getting dirty. I enjoy being
outside, and adventures that take me off
the beaten path. I love dogs and have one of my own. She's a really
sweet gal.
I'm a bit of a fish out of water in south Florida. I'm low
maintenance and prefer the simple things in life. There are few
things more cathartic for me than taking a century ride on my bike
along A1A. I enjoy meeting people who think as individuals and see
the world beyond themselves.
What I’m doing with my life
I break software for a living and write test applications. It's a
great job. I'm also a Masters student in
computer science at FAU. In my
free time, I train for marathons and triathlons. I'm in for Panama
City 140.6 in 2010.
Editors
I’m really good at
Putting stuff together (furniture, electronics, appliances, you
name it!)
Breaking electronics.
Typing.
Getting dirty.
Dancing. (Maybe? You be the judge.)
The first things people usually notice about me
I make good eye contact.
I'm rather shy and would rather listen than speak.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I love fresh fruit and vegetables. Dried mango rocks.
I really liked the Harry Potter series. Other favorite books
include "The Ear, The Eye, and The Arm" by Nancy Farmer, "Ender's
Game" by Orson Scott Card, "Into Thin Air" by Jon Krakauer, and "A
Walk in the Woods" by Bill Bryson, and "Hitchhiker's Guide to the
Galaxy" by Douglas Adams. I also read everything I could find by
Dan Brown (Angels and Demons, DaVinci Code, Digital Fortress) and
enjoyed those as well.
I liked the Star Trek movie. A lot.
In terms of music, I'm rather eclectic. I seem to be going through
a country phase right now.
The six things I could never do without
All equally important:
1. Physical activity
2. The ability to contact my loved ones
3. Goals
4. Fresh fruits and vegetables
5. A good pair of hiking boots or running shoes
6. Laughter
I spend a lot of time thinking about
- The next great adventure. One day, I'd like to climb some major
peaks. I'm hoping for
Kilimanjaro within the next 4 years,
with
Ama Dablam
and
Everest to
follow. I'd really love to climb the
"7 Summits" (highest peak on
each continent).
- Staying active. Finding different ways to vary my training
routine.
- Completing the Panama City Ironman. Attempting to conquer the
Disney World 70.3 in May. (Heatstroke much?)
On a typical Friday night I am
Exercising then relaxing at home. I go out ocassionally, but not
too often.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
My tri suit has given me some rather awkward tan lines.
