My Notes edit

My self-summary

I try to be interesting to talk to. I'm REALLY good at having ideas bounced off me. If you have a fabulous idea and need critique or advice, I'm your guy. I like to code things... yes, that means I can type HTML and see what it means, though I haven't done much with it recently. I play World of Warcraft(don't judge me). I am a computer nut. Not much for socialization, really (but I would like to change that), If you need your RAM upgraded I'm your guy, though. I'm originally from St. Louis, and I'm on the edge of "I like/hate Boston". It's so boring up here. I'm really kind of bad at social encounters.

What I'm doing with my life

Trying to get back into college. Hence I now work at Stop And Shop selling food to (on the whole) rude people or people who don't speak english.

I'm really good at

Math, science, research, filling out online quizzes, finding really interesting ways to kill time. I LOVE BOOKS. If you've read Inkheart, I want to be Aunt Elinor, but I wouldn't just collect them. I'd READ them. I happen to be a book nerd and a computer nerd at the same time. Did I mention I like books? I really do read a lot and I like to learn. I learn really fast and pick up on ideas quickly. I like to play Magic: The Gathering. I'm great at laser tag and I beat everyone I meet. I rock arcades, too. Anything that dispenses tickets is not safe from me. I'm unnaturally good at collecting bits of useless trivia.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

I'm painfully shy. I'm the guy sitting in a corner with his soda/frozen mocha/iced tea and reading a book. I'm quiet but I actually do like to talk, and I'd love to make friends. I just don't have good social skills. I'm kinda lonely but oddly philosophical, I'm told.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Music... The Fray, Evanescence, Anne Murray. If you need genres, country, classical (but not too much), pop, rock, (not screamy rock or loud rock, but what I usually call "rock lite") and alternative. I usually don't like emo stuff.

Food... Chinese, Mexican, American. If you make lasagna I have to try it at least once. Anything italian is good. Pasta is usually a safe bet. NOTHING SPICY, and I think the medium salsa in a jar is spicy.

Books... Mercedes Lackey, Terry Goodkind, Diane Duane. New series I've just started on: The House Of Night by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. I've just read Marked and it was wonderful. I've started reading the Septimus Heap series, too. I follow the Artemis Fowl series. I happen to be in the market for a good High Fantasy series. I like Terry Goodkind but have grown bored with him, and I find the D&D-based novels I have to be "not enough".

Movies... Willow, Serenity, Ultraviolet. I find the Narnia series of movies to be enjoyable so far. Light comedy is nice, fantasy/fiction is better. It has to be the right mood for horror/gorefests.

The six things I could never do without

My books, my laptop, my job, a house, clothes, and my cat.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

My friends in St. Louis, work, how I wish I was in school, etcetera. I try not to think too much about stressful things but it's really hard for me. The meaning of life. Why there's cheese in the butter dish and butter in the fruit drawer. Things like that.

On a typical Friday night I am

At home, being bored and wishing I had somewhere to go.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

My life is full of unfulfilled romantic firsts: I have never been to a prom, never had a boyfriend or a girlfriend, never had a first kiss, never had a crush, never had sex. I'm quite literally a blank slate. Oh yeah, and I make awkward jokes to cover the fact that I can't make good conversation. I know what I'm SUPPOSED to say but it just won't come out. Also, I'm overweight and actively trying to change that, but it's hard.

You should message me if

you aren't asleep from reading my profile. No, really! I'm told it's put insomiacs to sleep in under thirty seconds!
