I am a very easy-going guy who even complete strangers will talk to. I can handle just about anything that life throws at me but I am missing a critical component - I would love to have a partner with whom I can share the joys and adventures of life. I'm not looking for a short term or casual relationship.

With me you get a guy who is romantic, intelligent, adventurous, genuine, and reliable. I love making plans for dinner or a weekend getaway. I also look forward to making an extraordinary meal and sharing a bottle or two of wine. I enjoy helping my partner in any way that I can and I will always make sure that the people in my life are loved and appreciated.

I am an outdoorsy guy and I am an avid hunter who also enjoys fishing and hiking in new areas. I am up for any adventure big and small. I am outside a lot and I have the suntan to prove it. I grew up on a farm outside of Iowa City and I'm pretty much immune to sunburns. I can run a chainsaw, a reciprocating saw, a router, and I can filet a fish.

I work in investment management and while it is a good job I work to live instead of living to work. That is a key distinction because I'm not going to drag work home with me.

I have a fantastic home in North Liberty on the Coralville Lake and I really love being out in nature. I live by Squire Point so I can hunt, fish, and hike to my hearts content. I finished remodeling my master bathroom and it turned out fantastic. Check out the photo, I'm awfully proud of my handiwork!

I am a handy guy and that is despite working in an office every day. I always have a project going on and I can remodel a bathroom, build a wine cellar, and swap out an alternator. I also like to teach kids and give them life lessons that they will need to be able to live as an adult.

That has to be my extremely blue eyes as well as my dimples. You'll only see my dimples when I'm truly smiling and my heart is happy.

I'm a big fan of our local musical talent which is surprisingly abundant. There are many great venues which offer a huge variety of shows if you are game for joining me. My musical preferences run the gamut and I will happily enjoy folk, blues, bluegrass, rockabilly country, etc. I'm not a fan of jazz, it has just never appealed to me and I will pass on the sugar-coated candy that now passes for country music.

I'm good with all kinds of food and there are very few things that I will not eat. Thai, Indian, Italian, Moroccan, Mexican, anything! However just full and fair warning, I will not eat hard-boiled eggs, not even to be polite. Not even if your grandma makes her treasured family recipe. The rubbery texture and sulfuric smell takes me back to when I was kid and I was force fed egg salad sandwiches.

First would be sharp knives, you can't make dinner without a sharp knife. Traveling and exploring are also high on the priority list. I enjoy finding interesting places and meeting new people. My daughter of course, she is a beautiful and intelligent 13 year old who can keep up with just about any adult. My outdoor time is also extremely important be it hunting, fishing, hiking, or cutting firewood. Good tools are also important and with as much work as I do around the house I would be lost without them. I'm pretty self reliant and I can fix many things - however I also know when to call in the professionals.

Hopefully relaxing and not working. I spend a lot of time in my job and exercising and I would love nothing more than to go out for dinner or cook at home and split a bottle or two of wine. Weekends are time to connect as a couple and to live and enjoy life.

I can't sing. I have no musical talent whatsoever. It's sad but I've finally resigned myself to that fact. I love music and I will always support local musicians who have the musical talent that I profoundly lack But hey, I make up for my lack of musical skills in mad talents of many varieties! I can work on cars, remodel a house, filet a fish, and explain the importance of duration management in a low interest rate environment. And I can recognize and properly punctuate a compound adjective.
