What I’m doing with my life
Graduated UCLA in 2008 with a B.A. in Anthropology. I've been
living in Israel since Summer 2009 and currently I'm living in
Jerusalem until February doing a Hebrew ulpan/Arts/Learning program
and then staying to live in this fantastic country at least until
June. I'm still debating whether or not to make Aliyah but that's
fine since right now I'm just enjoying living in the Holy Land!!!
Other than that I am truly for the 1st time in my life, enjoying
every day and am so extremely happy with where I am and who I am.
I'm working on getting healthy and choosing better people to
surround myself with. I'm enjoying all Israel has to offer:
museums, festivals, concerts, galleries...I'm basically just living
my life to the fullest and relishing every minute of it!!!!
I’m really good at
listening, singing, writing, photography, making stupid puns,
baking rice krispy treats in weird flavours, adding garlic to
anything (except the aforementioned treats of course), being goofy,
analyzing situations, making collages, dancing, laughing with my
friends, laughing a lot, swimming, planning events, and being me
:-)
The first things people usually notice about me
my crazy style...and then my red hair, and then my blue green eyes,
and then the goofy grin I usually always have plastered across my
face...
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: any book by Jane Green (Jemima J, Straight Talking), Alice
Sebold (The Lovely Bones), and David Sedaris (Me Talk Pretty One
Day). LOVED She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb, of course the Harry
Potter books, Gone With the Wind, Fast Food Nation, Interview With
A Vampire,To Kill a Mockingbird, I ABSOLUTELY can't get enough of
the Uncle John Bathroom Readers...I'm a sucker for random tidbits
of trivial information.
Movies: Waitress, Goodfellas, Little Mermaid, Hairspray (new and
old), Chicago, anything by John Waters (Cry Baby, etc.), Hook,
Saved!, Garden State, Across the Universe, Finding Neverland,
Enchanted, anything by Tim Burton (Beetlejuice, Sweeney Todd), P.T.
Anderson (Magnolia, Boogie Nights), Requiem for a Dream, Being John
Malkovich, Donnie Darko, Napoleon Dynamite, Crash, Neverending
Story, Sword in the Stone, Chasing Amy, Prey for Rock & Roll,
Slums of Beverly Hills, Moulin Rouge, Imagine Me & You, Party
Monster, Secretary, But I'm a Cheerleader, Closer, Se7en, Welcome
to the Dollhouse, Rules of Attraction, Kill Bill, Opposite of Sex,
Labryinth, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Dirty Pretty
Things, Day Without a Mexican, Bowling for Columbine, The Breakfast
Club, Teen Witch, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Rocky Horror Picture
Show, Land Without Bread, Se7en, Lolita, Interview with a Vampire,
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Pay It Forward, Life of David
Gale,Cruel Intentions, and Legally Blonde. If you couldn't tell, I
am a movie nut. I could watch movies all. Day. Long. No joke.
Music: Anything and everything!!! I especially love jazz. Like the
oldies of Ella, Etta, and Louis. But anything that is music I
pretty much enjoy listening to. I believe it's not possible to
judge music, just as you can't judge art because how can you judge
someone's inner emotions and thoughts? See? You can't. :-) Any type
of music you give me to listen to I can assure you I will find some
enjoyment in it somewhere.
Food: almost any Jewish food especially matzo ball soup and
hamantaschen. I also love ravioli, caesar salad, frozen yogurt,
sushi, hibachi (from Beni Hana), fried rice, fruit, onions, garlic,
and summer squash.
The six things I could never do without
1. My family and friends. 2. My Ipod 3. Movies 4. My positive
outlook on life 5. My voice (other than losing it in a short term
cold which still sucks) 6. The internet or cell phone seem so
cliche but I hate to admit it's probably true.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
things on my to do list that I usually end up forgetting to think
about. And also how much longer till I am self sufficient and able
to help out my family like they've done for me. And also how to
progress my life towards being a more enlightened person.
On a typical Friday night I am
at the movies with my friends, the local bar that has karaoke with
my friends, or out dancing with my friends...sometimes early in the
night at Shabbat services.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
My mom passed away when I was 10 and although it was difficult to
live with and still deal with day to day, I've come to believe that
everything in life happens for a reason. Today, I have my whole
family who helped raise me, including some of my friends' family,
and I'm proud to be able to say I grew up just fine and wonder if
her death was a blessing in disguise because I don't know where I'd
be if she hadn't. Everything could be drastically different and not
in a good way. You never know :-)
You should message me if
Someone who respects me and is interested in more than just a hook
up-knows how to be a goofball-will sing karaoke no matter how bad
his voice is, just because it's fun -appreciates all art
forms-loves the beach-wants a big family-believes in upholding
family traditions -loves animals -knows how to listen-is confident
in himself-is openminded to people & situations -is funny &
has a quick wit -is intelligent but not cocky-loves to travel (i
travel alot and love it!!!)-enjoys going to museums, art shows,
musicals...I'm very into "cultural activities"-gets along with HIS
family -has never cheated on a girlfriend-is honest, trustworthy,
& loyal -isn't a pushover -knows how to be a bad boy wrapped up
inside a good man-doesn't smoke cigs-likes to go out dancing or go
to a bar (cheeky kind not trendy kind) but doesn't mind sitting on
the couch, cuddling, watching a movie -isn't afraid of commitment
if it's with the right girl -is a hopeless romantic -likes me how I
am, not how I could be-is able to debate serious topics & stand
his ground -is passionate about life-isn't afraid to try new things
-has a thirst for knowledge -likes to go camping -loves to show PDA
(public displays of affection) -is sexually adventurous while in a
relationship-has to be politically aware-doesn't have to be really
into movies but it's a definite bonus!!!-is goal oriented &
focused-knows that friendship is essential in any
relationship.
I say/do A LOT of silly stuff & need a similar guy & even
if I seem like an idiot at times he's the one who'll get it/at
least laugh with me about it. I guess I'm looking for basics:
trust, compassion, reliability, romance, originality, debates &
great friendship with long talks, melting kisses & laughs.
Waking up each morning with the person & feel butterflies even
if for 2 seconds 50 yrs from now. Love isn't about finding the
perfect person. It's about finding that imperfect person &
realizing how perfect they are for you.
