My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Of course, I’m seeking that special connection that we all seek…but I'm not in a huge rush to fill that position with just anyone. Truly looking for fun, friendship, and passion with the right person that could potentially turn into something long term.

I've lived on both coasts and love to travel. Intelligent, good conversationalist, well-mannered, and socially/environmentally conscious. But I also have a huge silly/goofy side and am definitely looking for someone who can let loose and laugh at themselves. The secret to staying young, I'm convinced, is the ability to really let go - not caring what anyone else thinks.

And passion…there has to be passion. When you see those couples who have been together 40+ years and they still have that special smile for each other...that’s ultimately what I aspire to.

Mom to a sweet 10 year old boy (my little buddy) and a recent canine rescue from Taiwan (the furry one in the pics). Love kids and animals - and would do best with someone who feels the same (though you don't have to have kids of your own).

Ultimately, I'm looking for someone with whom I can be myself. Someone who will accept me, quirks and all. Someone who will cherish me as I cherish him.

On a separate topic...
If you're interested in collaborating on song writing, performing or just making music for fun, do drop me a line. My ultimate goal would be to find a couple of musicians who'd be interested in getting together regularly and working towards performing at open mic nights, clubs/coffeehouses, etc. I'm primarily a singer, but can bang out a few guitar chords and do simple percussion. My musical tastes are very varied but I'm really drawn to folk-inspired pop/rock, new Americana, alt-country, & bluegrass-infused rock/pop (in the vein of Alison Krauss, The Avett Brothers, The Civil Wars, Diane Birch, The Jayhawks, Ray LaMontagne, etc.) Would start with covers but I'm open to collaborating on some original tunes as well (or singing ones you've already written.)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to stay mindful and enjoying all the little moments along the way that make up this thing called life.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Singing, listening & being a shoulder to cry on, training dogs, tapping into my silly/goofy side, organizing anything, giving massages, spelling/grammar, parenting, making those close to me feel special.

According to the Enneagram Test, I'm a 9 (The Peacemaker). Not sure I agree with everything they say, but it's pretty accurate in that I'm well-liked, easy-going/low maintenance, am a very good listener, stable, and I rely heavily on my instinct.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My son & family, my dog, music, laughter, the ocean, ice cream.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future, things I want to learn (sailing, violin, glassblowing), places I want to go (Alaska, Egypt, India, Russia, Thailand, back to England), ways I can help others, the environment, my unfinished novel(s), the latest tune running through my head, song lyrics, my son (and how I can help him grow to be the best person he can be.)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Engaged in a spirited sword fight with my son (he's really into pirates and knights right now, lol), dancing and singing in my kitchen, meeting with friends, working on my music, or just chilling out. Maybe even on a date ;)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm pretty much an open book, but that one you'll have to ask in person, lol.

You're really into music/live shows, enjoy bookstores, farmers' markets (eating organic/healthy), love to snorkel/sail (being near the ocean), love dogs and kids, travel, discovering new places, stimulating conversation, & witty banter. And you love to kiss ;)

Or you'd like to collaborate musically.
