My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am woefully inept at self-advertisement and feel nearly compelled to respond to these questions with playful sarcasm and bashful self- abasements despite the obvious futility of irreverence in such a forum. Ahh, how attractive I make myself sound! You see? Compelled.

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
So I’m a SoCal native—raised in LA, undergraduated in Santa Barbara, and now I’m doing the PhD thing (pronounced 'indentured servitude') just a skip away over in Irvine—which some find surprising because I usually walk around looking half-way like Oliver Twist. I’m a medievalist by vocation, which more than a few people have mistaken for meaning that I put on a wizard hat and chuck colorful dice. To the contrary, I’m probably one of the few people you will meet who has read more of J.R.R Tolkien and C.S. Lewis’ academic work than their fiction (I acknowledge questionable laudability of this claim). I labor on in the hopes of bringing sexy back to the 14th century.
