Movie Night

Apr 2, 2010

I had a screening today of one of the films that I'm requiring the class I'm teaching to see (The Dark Knight--I'm teaching critical reading and rhetoric class whose theme is 'picturing the hero').  I set up the screening so they wouldn't have to go out and rent it themselves, thinking it would be a chance for class community outside the more formal confines of the classroom. I even brought snacks. and of course no one showed up ): and my first reaction was 'well this sucks. See if I ever do any thing like this again.  But screw it, I got to chill in my own privet theater with a 15 foot screen and great surround sound cowing down on a box of donuts and a 2-liter.... On second thought, I'll start doing this weekly.
