My self-summary
I don't know how to summarize myself. That's probably a job for others who know me to do. I've been told that personality wise, I'm a pretty good balance of cerebral and emotional. I can be a little shy at times and have a pretty dry sense of humor. I can be quiet, but like to talk too. I'm not actually much of a morning person.
What I’m doing with my life
Here's a teeny-tiny slice of what I'm doing with it:

I'm in a job where I write a lot, and I've found that I sort of like it, so forgive me if I go on for too long.

I'm pretty independent and walk everywhere. I like exploring the city and taking daytrips and checking out other parts of New England. I also like to bicycle places. Oh, and I swim quite a bit, but for exercise, not as transportation.

I've been to Europe a bunch of times and and was even an exchange student in Germany when I was in high school. I've been to a lot of the US. Death Valley was overwhelming, I felt tiny. I saw the bioluminescent bay in Vieques, the water glowed, I was amazed. The journey can be the destination, so I like road trips and long distance rail travel. Once I drove from LA to Tucson, via Manzanar, Death Valley, The Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Jerome AZ (where I picked up my sister) and then went on to Tucson (where we met up with my other sister). Another time I took a train (well, two trains) all the way to California, and when I got there and looked around for a few days, I took another one (ok, that was two trains too, but different ones that took a different route) all the way back to Boston. I want to go to the Pacific Northwest someday, but no one will take me. I like to hike too. I like to visit and know a lot about the state parks in Massachusetts because I used to be a state park ranger.

I like taking photos of things. I grew up in a big old house in a suburb north of Boston where there was always lots of free instant film and free instant cameras (and a photographer who worked for the company which made the aforementioned film and cameras who would teach his many kids how to use them). I just got a fancy camera and am trying to figure it out.
I’m really good at
Retaining facts and useless information. I kill at trivia.
Also singing when I think no one is around.
