My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
First, let me say hello. Has everyone been to Machu Picchu, except me?

At mid-life, I’m making positive changes in all aspects of my life, that go beyond just switching my cereal to Kashi Flaxseed. I believe it can be done.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
A quote that struck a chord with me recently.

"If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day." -E.B. White.

Actually, I'm not sure....but a lot of these profiles make me realize that life is not over if you've made some bad choices. but really...Improving the world through use and design of technology. Living healthier, and a strong advocate for the super powers of middle aged people everywhere. :)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Finding quiet, out of the way spots, that many times, natives aren't aware existed. Succinctly summarizing any situation, with clarity and meaning. Cliff notes of life.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My "cat that swallowed the canary" smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I enjoy modern relevant movies that make me think. American Beauty, Eyes Wide Shut, Silver Linings..., etc.
I don't enjoy car chase, or shoot-em up movies. Love a good chick flick on occasion and the original Goodbye Girl is a favorite. Big fan of most Woody Allen movies. Anything that captures an era or a place specifically, I can enjoy it. Movies filmed in and around NYC during any time, I enjoy, and more accurately, I'm a little obsessed about. (more about identifying a spot in a movie, and possibly re-visiting it)

Books: Slow reader, but I enjoy audio books.
I'm not as well-read as I'd like to be, but would love to be challenged in that area. I'm the King of self help books, because I always like to be moving in that direction. One recent audio book that I loved and has helped me is "The Power of Resilience" check it out. Other than that, it's either, tech manuals, personal finance, or magazines like the Atlantic or Smithsonian.

Food: Anything, and moving toward ever smaller portions when possible. Big fan of desserts.

Music: Pretty much anything, but on Sunday mornings, it's mellow, like James Taylor, Indigo Girls, etc. I do enjoy songs that put me in a reflective mode...like Stings "Why should I cry for you?" (give it a listen)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Starbucks coffee
My Cat
Movies filmed in NYC
Brooklyn Cannoli's
NYC Subway
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I can better share true joy with people.
Staying relevant at middle age.
Turning my ideas into financial investments that will pay off in the future. (and that includes through self improvement and growth)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Not ashamed to say home. I like to zig when others zag. I'd rather go out to dinner on a nice quiet Sunday night, or see some live music that night than fight crowds on Friday and Saturday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
If unavoidable...I miiiiiiight just happen to eavesdrop on the table next to mine, when out to dinner. :) Truth is so much stranger than fiction.
