My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My name's Tyler. I'm an aspiring writer, inventor, and mad scientist. I've been told more than a few times that I'm kind, a little odd, and have a great sense of humor.

I don't mean that to sound arrogant at all. I like to think that I understand and avoid the line between confident and stuck up. I'm very confident, but do my best to avoid seeming full of myself.

I'm looking for someone who wants to experience as much as I do. I love traveling to new places, eating new food, trying new activities, learning new ideas, anything I haven't done before. If I get into a rut with no new experience, my brain feels atrophied and understimulated, like a machine full of cobwebs. I want someone who can keep up with me and introduce me to new experiences. I also really like nerdy/geeky girls. I'm a sucker for a librarian or gamer :) The most attractive thing in the world to me is a unique, strong personality. I don't want someone to have to hide who they are. I don't, and neither should you.

Random things:
I have a political man-crush on Jon Stewart.
I have a scientific man-crush on Nikola Tesla. He is the benchmark for what any mad scientist should aspire to be.
I'm awesome at Magic: The Gathering.
I'm grammatically sensitive (this was recommended to me as a better term than "grammar Nazi." I like it!)
Secular humanism very accurately describes my beliefs.
I love piercings and tattoos, but have none of my own anymore.
I can juggle.
I worked at a zoo. It was a blast!
I'm a nerdfighter. DFTBA!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
My job has long hours and extensive travel, so I'm usually working all week, but have weekends free. Other than that, I spend time with my family, write, paint, read, play video games, and other time-wasting activities.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing, juggling, Team Fortress 2, massages, funny voices, Magic, imagining, trivia
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
It used to be my long hair, then I donated it. Then it was my beard, but that's gone now. I don't know anymore. I think it may be my voice. I've been told by random people that they like my voice, and that I should be a radio announcer. That's a HUGE compliment! :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books - I LOVE books! My favorites are usually fantasy or sci-fi, but I also soak up books on neuroscience, biology, and physics. I love Jonah Lehrer, Tolkien, Asimov, Stephen King, and tons of others. Most of my books are in storage right now. I can't wait to liberate them and restore them to my shelves.

Movies - I spent four years working at a theater, so movies became my life. I maintain a list on Facebook of all of them that I've ever seen. So far it's at 856 movies. Some of my favorites are The Princess Bride, Interview With The Vampire, Labyrinth, Lord of the Rings, and Big Fish. This list is way too big to get into here.

Shows - I don't watch much TV. In fact, I don't even own one. But, I do like some. Game of Thrones, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica (the remake from 2004), cooking shows, No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain, or Walking Dead.

Music - My musical tastes vary and change all the time. Some constants are punk rock like Bad Religion or Rise Against, and electronica/industrial, like Rotersand or Neuroticfish.

Food - I'm not picky at all. I'll try anything edible, and pride myself on accumulating new food experiences.

Video games - This needs to be a category, at least for me. I also keep a list of games I've beaten. So far it's at 143. Most of them tend to be RPGs or strategy games. Fallout, Metroid, Team Fortress 2, Final Fantasy, Okami, and Megaman are some favorites.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1 - My phone - It never leaves my side.
2 - My computer - The amount of time that I spend here is probably a little unhealthy, but it's where I get news, play games, talk to friends, all that essential stuff. It's my window to the outside world.
3 - My independence - I need to be able to do my own thing and occasionally have time to myelf.
4 - My Swiss Army knife - It's always in my pocket. When I don't have it, I feel useless! I like being able to fix things.
5 - Books - I LOVE reading. I can blaze through novels and spend hours in a bookstore, mentally writing a massive wishlist.
6 - Conversation - I thrive off of intelligent conversation, and anyone who tells me new, interesting things instantly becomes a friend.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Politics; if this building rotated ninety degrees in any direction, how would I get out?; revising designs in my head; thinking of new ideas for short stories; what is my next goal in life?; dinner
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Spending time with my family, spending time with my friends, or relaxing after working all week. I'm hoping to meet more people to get out more, but I'm not from the area, so it's tough.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have no secrets. Ask my anything, and I'll answer honestly.

I have a huge thing for tattoos. I find them immensely attractive, but have none of my own. I plan on getting some, but need to decide what I want first.

A girlfriend once called me "kinky-cuddly." Take that as you will :P

You want to talk about something interesting or ask a question. I'm extremely open and love being asked strange questions. You answer one first though:

If you could augment or replace any part of your body with something artificial or mechanical, what would it be? It can add new functions or supplement abilities you already have. Pick two things.

If you don't want to ask or can't think of a question, then send me a link to something I can learn. Here's a freebie:

A big pet peeve: I hate text speak. It literally takes a tenth of a second to press the keys "y" and "o" when typing "you," and it's amazing what that tiny bit of effort does for your writing. I also severely dislike text acronyms and random capitalization. If you message me, please, please, PLEASE don't assault my eyes with any of these, or the dreaded combination of all three. *shudder* It's not pretty. The exception to this rule is if you're missing fingers. I can understand why pressing shift and a second key would be hard if you're not sporting a full set.

So if you can type like an educated human with interesting ideas and a unique personality, I'd love to hear from you! Teach me something interesting!
