My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Pacific University alumna with degrees in International Relations & Media Arts. I like to think of it as the artist without the starving part.

My hobbies include Reading, photography, and video games. My favorite hobby is writing: I love to write. It’s the one thing I’ve done since I was a child. I speak Japanese and love to eat sushi, go out on the town and dress nice—for any reason, even if that is no reason at all.

I am clever, creative and driven.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working on a new associate's for Computer information Sciences. Especially since I just earned a grant to study it from the state. Graduating next year.

I'm working very hard on my first two books. One is a hard look at the American justice system and the other is a supernatural story I'm writing. It's a ghost story for ghosts and I'm already up to 115 pages.

And planning my next adventure. You know what to do if you want a part in it. (`_^)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Speaking Japanese, writing, Photography [I'll send you a few artsy pictures if you want them] and witty banter. I also cook really well. I love making sweet things and smoked foods the most.
Lately two of my favorite recipes are the salmon hash served at Heathman hotel and barbacoa. I've been told it's better than Chipotle burrito.

And singing just like Frank Sinatra.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Physically, the thing I think most people zero-in on about me is the fact that I have such dark features offset by my really, really bright eyes. They've been described as "a cornucopia of color offset by darkness."

But sample size is insufficient. So why don't you tell me?

Some of my favorite: Books: The Myth-Adventures of Aahz and Skeeve by Robert Asprin, Lord of the Rings, any Manga, The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, The Art of War, Tao Te Ching. I also love The Lathe of Heaven by local Portland writer Ursula K. Leguin, and The Samurai's Garden. Others include Where the Wild Things Are, Interview with the Vampire, Ender's Game, The Importance of Being Earnest (ok, so it's a play, but a darn good one) and most graphic novels. I also love Neil Gaiman--anything he writes is pure gold. He is a modern Shakespeare in my opinion. And of course, I love the Bard, Shakespeare.

Movies: Casablanca, Bladerunner, The Matrix, The Lord of the Rings, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Spiderman, and all Superman films. Inception is a new favorite, Citizen Kane and Dracula.

Music: Anything that isn't looped for 8 hours straight!

Food: Anything that tastes good. I especially love Italian food, Japanese, Thai, French and Chinese.

There's more to each of these lists, but I just don't feel the urge to write one that's a zillion miles long. If you want to know If I like something, ask
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Modern Plumbing.

The Internet.

A good book

My cats. I only have two.

Humor (Did you hear the one about the pope, a rabbi and the angry midget?)

And finally: Beer. Yes, Beer, the pinnacle of human civilization.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My mind is a cascading waterfall of ideas. No, it's a singularity! I never have lone ideas; they explode, careen, multiply from here to infinity and in between because they ebb and flow. Oscillating between this form and that.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I have a standing tech seminar I go to on Friday night, but I am free after 10 p.m. I am in downtown Portland, though, so ask me what I'm doing after.

I am free Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday morning. Brunch is always an option.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I went to Egypt before the revolution broke out.

I'll always write a letter back if you send one, so don't be worried about writing something "perfect." Perfection isn't a prerequisite for me and I hope it isn't for you either.

Please don't write me if you have children. I'm not interested in that in this point in time.

Know that I do not make 80 grand a year. Those are my future earnings after I graduate from my progam--which is overwhelmingly paid by scholarship money. Heck, I got $3500 this month alone to cover tuition for a new associate's degree. So if after reading all this, finding out that the man you're reading about is unemployed DOESN'T trigger hulk rage from you, we would probably be a good fit. Because chances are you're either unemployed or underemployed as well. There are plenty of ways to have fun for free.

I also have an active lifestyle and expect you to be able to keep up.
