I am inquisitive, intense, and impassioned.
My Self-Summary
Generally, I'm a "live and let live" kind of person. I once heard
that if you're not growing, you're dying. And for me, growing is
learning - about all kinds of things. In fact, I would say I was
more motivated to do graduate school to learn than for any
particular career enhancement. I'm always amazed by how many things
there are in this world to "know", and by how bright and gifted
people can be in so many ways. I particularly enjoy overcoming my
personal fears and inhibitions, especially when there's no "good"
reason for them. Rock climbing and dance would be good examples. I
love my hobbies and sometimes feel frustrated that I have to make
trade-offs, I wish there was time to do everything! I think life
has been good to me and I feel very lucky, but I'm also a big
believer that each of us has a lot to do with making our own luck.
Case in point, I steadfastly refuse to eat any portion of a fortune
cookie with a cautionary fortune (isn't it eating the cookie that
seals the deal?).
What I’m doing with my life
For my day job, I work in a marketing
analytics consultancy. Basically, I
use
statistics
to answer
marketing problems.
In my spare time I enjoy: international
travel (been Argentina,
Australia, Austria, Czech Republich, Greece, Hungary, Italy,
France, New Zealand, and Spain thus far),
jiu-jistu and
mixed martial arts (like
UFC), indoor
rock climbing,
photography,
drawing,
reading, and being exposed
to fine
art (
painting,
sculpture) and performing arts
(
music,
theatre,
opera,
ballet). More than anything though, over
the past couple of years I've become very dedicated to
dance, and currently spend
most of my free time on
tango.
I love
NYC and have
recently purchased my own co-op apartment, so it looks like I'll be
here a while.
The first things people usually notice about me
Appearance wise, probably either my eyes or the curls in my
hair.
In terms of personality, I would say they notice that I'm honest,
analytical, and a bit of an independent thinker.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
a) The Tipping Point, Alice In Wonderland and Through the Looking
Glass, The Lucifer Principle
b) Empire Stikes Back, Fight Club, Forrest Gump, and The
Unforgiven
c) Linkin Park, Danzig, Static-X, Metallica, 50 Cent, Ministry of
Sound, Fatboy Slim, The Prodigy, Madonna
d)Whatever is easy and doesn't have a lot of processed artificial
sweeteners or trans fats. :)
The six things I could never do without
In no particular order: romantic love (don't necessarily need all
the time - but I'd be disappointed if I expected to never have it
again), sex, good health, books, my sports, travel (I've been
bitten by the bug) and tango (although I guess that makes seven...
good thing I didn't say "math").
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Beats me... feel free to ask me anything. Odds are, I'll answer.

I originally joined this site when searching for personality tests

not in the market for dating and just keep the profile for
occasional light entertainment and because I found some of the

my profile that inspires you to write while knowing this, feel
